A fun fact about cats most people don't know, the amount of kittens they have depend on how many times they mate. That also means kittens from the very same litter can have different fathers, if the mom mated multiple times with various different cats. Cats stay in heat for a while, that's why its so rare for them to only have one kitten since they usually mate more than once.

When stray kittens are born to stray or roaming cats, those kittens are extremely susceptible to disease and predation. Stray cats decimate local bird populations and many species have gone extinct because of them. The domestic cat is an invasive species everywhere in the world. Have you ever fostered a stray? Or perhaps lived in a neighborhood with a colony? Those stray kittens die. So many of them die due to respiratory infections, parasites, and (if you're in an area with no prior vaccine campaigns, which is many places) even rabies. Those that reach maturity do so at 6 months and can start having kittens immediately. Then they could get hit by cars, or eaten by dogs and other predators, they contract diseases and become little mobile parasite dispersers. We do not need more kittens. No city on earth needs more kittens. Shelters are overflowing with kittens. A stray or roaming cat is everybody's business.

I've volunteered at cat shelters and seen many cats, and from experience and what I've read, when a cat loses an eye then it looks very different from the cat in this video. However, cats that I've seen that were born without a limb or eye, then the fur grows there normally.

She is so good with both of them. That kitten - so adorable. That's why I have to limit my exposure to kittens - I can't resist them and take them home (if they need a home). Grooming is a way for Mamma cat to soothe and reassure her kitten. I have a female cat who continually wants to groom me, she just seems to need that connection. My other cats don't do this, but they do sometimes groom each other.
