As someone who went through the emo phase I was also confused by Emma. She looks scene not emo. They should have given her a black hoodie with a made up band on it and combat boots.

emma emo is adorable! i think her look is definitely very scene queen, which falls under the emo umbrella but you’re right that the traditional emo look is typically dark colors :)

@Baldibasicshot Жыл бұрын
@@visiogenicsthey probably didn't do that because the hair would get very messy in box and they'd have to use an excessive amount of hairspray or glue, it would be cool to see her with scene hair though :)

Emma is actually more scene inspired which is a sub culture of emo, which scene incorporates a lot more bright neon colors into their style.

9 times out of 10 i'd go for the Tweens but I have to say they've done so much better with the second series of the Barbie Minis than the first series. They are more cohesive and funner to look at.

the mid 2000s to early 2010s were for sure influenced by the 80s (I graduated high school in 2010). I recall more goth/emo in the earlier part of the period, then adding more 80s influence gave us "scene" in the later portion. *Edit: However I think Gen Z even has their own modern take on the emo/scene look via "e-girl" & "e-boy" style.

The rainbow hair was very much a part of scene/emo fashion when I was a kid, but the rainbow clothes, not so much. Folks would have been wearing black. Maybe the doll has some elements of the eGirl trend? Either way, she’s very cute.

I find it odd that so many reviewers don't understand the yellow bow hair clip with the striped hair addition. If you just clip it in her hair as shown on the box art, the striped hair hangs down next to her ponytail perfectly.

Emma Emo was my first Tween doll (also my first lol/omg), and I love her so much! She’s such a great size to just hold lol. I bought Aya Cherry for my friend during the same trip and she loves her too. I just had to get the rainbow vomit scene girl, I love her so much. The hair extension and the clips all go in her bangs! Well, the hair extension bow goes a little behind her bangs so it can sort of blend into them. I was super confused too lol, I had to stare at her artwork for a good while to find it. Now she listens to The Cure with me while I do work

Emma is 100% not emo, she's scene 😅 They should have named her Sandra Scenekid or something. I was an emo kid back in 2006ish, then morphed into a scene kid by about 2009. There's definitely a big difference and Emma would need like 90% more dark colours to be emo.
