thanks for this wonderful video❤. Just feeling thrusted towards life. I've few doubts would you mind clarifying them please 1.Will the salary be sufficient to make accommodation there 2.how difficult is it to get accustomed to their medical system ? Is it possible to get clinical knowledge and treating patients soon? Are they friendly enough to teach IMGs? 3. Is complete knowledge of text books enough or should I subscribe to any coaching sites like marrow PLABABLE etc? 4.How easy is it to progress fy1 to fy2 and so on?
@drmonishamishra3 жыл бұрын
1. That’s a very subjective question. Depends on your lifestyle, rent and other expenses. I can’t generalise that! 2. Again depends and varies from person to person. I still learn new things everyday about NHS and the U.K. But I enjoy learning new things! If you are a friendly, warm and genuinely nice person why wouldn’t anyone like you? IMG or not? 3. I have made a whole video on what you need for PLAB and materials I read. Here’s the PLAB playlist - kzbin.info/aero/PLJUezYb2CNeAyarfkp2XvHaBTzRrqhdt3 4. If your portfolio (CV) is brilliant and you tick all tick boxes why won’t you progress easily?
@gloriaalva87812 жыл бұрын
1. generally it should be OK. Unless you are looking to buy a BMW or Mercedes.😊 2. Keep an open mind about it. Racism exists everywhere one just has to be resilient. And teaching for local and IMG is the same.

Hi Dr Monisha I relate myself to you a lot especially the reasons you gave for choosing to practice medicine in the UK . I'm on my way to my plabs. Wanted to ask you if there is any way we can bring our parents to the UK in the long run. (more than the usual 6-months visa period ). Can they come as our dependants as I'm the only child who wants them as well in the UK. I know it's an immigration question but if you have any knowledge about it, that would be so kind ❤️
@vishnu52723 жыл бұрын
If u have got an answer to this question now, can u now plz share it with me (as im the only child)?
@gloriaalva87812 жыл бұрын
Myra. You cannot get parents on dependent visa. Some rare cases of political asylum being granted do exist but they are few and far between. Mostly they will be getting multiple entry visa so they can come and go multiple times but they cant stay long term. Lets say if a 1 yr multiple entry visa was granted, it is expected that the person will come and go multiple times. However if you want you can take a risk, which is generally not advisable, they can stay the whole 1 year and go back, but when you apply next time for the visa, passport stamp will show that the said person had stayed continuously in UK for 1 yr and next visa will be declined mostly likely without explanation.

From my experience, people view going to UK as a great accomplishment as its a more developed country compared to India. Also you don't need to worry that uk steals the brightest from the world as its not the case. The opportunities, lifestyle etc are very limited in india due to the massive population. its mostly personal preference and people prefer going abroad for better opportunities, salary etc :) hope this helps !!

May be because English isn’t our first language and most of the times we are thinking of the answer or sentences in our native language first before translating it to English in our heads and then responding.
