Thanks so much for sharing. I think you should add the sweet cook lady to more of your videos. Take Jamaica Mike fishing he would be a hoot. I have learned so much watching you fish. I would love to see more of your actual deep drop rigs.

Of the few channels I subscribe to, this is by far my favorite. Great fishing video's but the adventures you guys go on as family with friends is way cool. I have a question I've been meaning to ask, I see quite a few Swords that get tagged, I've never seen a tagged one caught. Have you ever caught a tagged one and if so, where was it tagged?
@StanzFam3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I have never caught a tagged one myself. I have had 15 or so recaught tho

Debating for a trip south to Florida, end of April early May. What is the fishing like? Does it compete with what we have in Alaska? Thought I’d ask you. Watch all your videos!
@StanzFam3 жыл бұрын
Depends what you want to catch. I like the spring time here, little bit of everything. I’m sure it’s two completely different fisheries, lots of pressure in south Florida between all the recreational boats and charter boats that fish 12 months a year

As a freshwater fisherman who catches king salmon and musky...can someone explain to me why saltwater fishermen don't just use a net for fish like say Mahi and big deep water snapper? They make em with hoops big enough for 50" musky and it would seem easier than swinging a gaff.

You should try raw monchong, sashimi. Delicious, that's the true test. A little shoyu, all you need. I wouldn't eat mahi sashimi, but sautees yum. Tight lines
@luderickwong3 жыл бұрын
mon chong䱽, that is the name one of the best taste fish we know. that name "monchong" very likely is coming from chinese translation. butter smooth texture, right? however, the fish on your side looks a slightly difference. darker in colour, thicker skin. may be they are two different sub species. you will need further identification by counting number of spine in dorsal fin and sectment of vertebrate to verify if it is the same fish. that's the fish biologist's work. monchong here on the other side of the world have more silverish color, some easy to drop small scale, feed on jelly fish and krill diet. we usually steam them, grill them. it is rare now because of overfishing. and that guy on the boat is right, the fish eye and the fish head is the most tasty part of this fish. again, it violates the western table manner, so not much people in the west knows that.
