I'm from Guadeloupe, I appreciate you giving us warning about the risk of the Hurricane going more on the West and picking south a little bit too, we are prepared but still scared.

Our governor formally issued a 'state of emergency' this afternoon. Basically a formality to get resources and such in place but also, I would hope, to wake people up and get active now, in preparing for Irma. It's been a decade since Florida had a major hurricane make landfall and some people tend to have short memories and or become complacent and wait until the last minute to do anything. Better to prepare and have Irma not have as serious an impact than to do nothing and then get caught short. Be safe everyone in the path / potential path of this serious hurricane!

If it takes the worst case path making the right turn north directly over south florida and makes it way north thereby effecting many states en route to Ny and New England, it seems reminiscent of the mighty Hurricane Donna of 1960, which many of your older viewers will remember vividly as it caused an awful lot of damage for an awful lot of folks....

If Irma is where that cone ends, south Florida will be getting rain bands already. I'm in South Carolina--not panicking, but preparing.

Irma is not where the cone ends, Irma is where the cone starts (the yellow dot on the NHC forecast). The entire cone is where the hurricane might conceivably go knowing the data we have at this time, and our knowledge is more and more limited the further out the cone extends. Beyond the cone we just don't know enough to even draw more cone. Not panicking and preparing are exactly the right things to do. Hope you'll be safe!

Then Levi should know that doing this is a Federal offense: Even if using NOAA data, and disclaiming it. I did not watch, I only know that if he's not a licensed meterologist, he knows better. Disclaimer: This is not a comment for or against Levi's ability to interpret existing data!

Wrong. There is no Federal law preventing anyone from speculating about the weather; Levi, the clown over on another channel prophesying a direct hit on Washington DC because of God's punishment for "the elites", or your grandma. You do most definitely not have to be a "licensed" meteorologist (there is no licensing process). What is against the law (18 U.S. Code § 2074) is knowingly publicizing false weather reports or predictions as being from the Weather Bureau, United States Signal Service, or any other branch of Government service. That is why Levi has an explicit disclaimer prominently on this video and on his site about NOT representing the NHC. He's doing exactly the right thing. Which is more than can be said about most KZbin clowns yelling DOOM after showing some GFS model data runs which they don't understand. You might want to patrol their channels; they need the help (but do read the law first).
