Your laundry room is beautiful! Trying to keep our laundry area beautiful and tidy is an Olympic event in our home; the basement walls are covered in insulation, the builder didn’t put the window in we requested and the lighting has always been a crazy combination of lighting types. I try to remind myself if the scripture, “Where no oxen are, the crib is clean but much increase is by the strength of the ox. As we raise our children and teach them to care for this area, I try to remember that Godliness with contentment is great gain.

Doing all we do for the lord should be out daily aim. Thank you for a very inspiring video. On each Monday of the month I dedicate some extra time to deep clean one bed room. (My oldest daughter needs to take care of her own room and laundry but I am here to assist if necessary and with the 2 younger ones we do it age appropriately together). Yesterday I spent some time re organising the closet and also make a list of the clothes we need to replace / donate / purchase for the upcoming spring season. It is so rewarding to see even just a tiny space re organised with love and care. 🥰 I am very much looking forward to your next upload. Have a wonderful day. 🌹

Thanks Nikki, great video, the words you said changed my mind on the way i actually do things, "you said doing your bedroom first is also a good way to put and consider yourself first " that 's so important, as we, women we always want to do for others first, and i won't say we are not considering ourselves doing things for others, but considering ourselves first in that case is the point, we have to value ourselves ! Great, i will apply that , Thank you Nikki 🥀
@TheLadyoftheHouse
@TheLadyoftheHouse Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! If we can manage a little, we can manage a lot. That starts with our bedroom, even as a child. We get a home and think somehow that changes when it doesn't. Also, our surroundings heavily impact out mental state. The bedroom is the beginning of that.

Would you do a video on how to be tidy/clean when you feel judged by your family of origin for that? I want to be the ideal homemaker - both for my husband and myself (and our future kids) - but my mom sees it as me trying to cater to my husband. She thinks I should be focused on making money right now and let the homemaking happen when our baby is born.
@rachelt727

Honestly what’s wrong with catering and caring for your husband? It’s a blessing for your marriage. As long as he’s not treating you like his mom.

Don’t let other people tell you how to live your life, including your mother. Maybe especially your mother.
@TheLadyoftheHouse
@TheLadyoftheHouse Жыл бұрын
If you are seen as catering to your husband, you do well. A man is to leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife which also means the wife will do the same. A home will not stand if it's only made when children come, that is not the beginning of the home. There is nothing wrong with a woman working but if it's at the cost of mismanagement of the home, our priorities are out of order. It takes time to learn this with all its moving parts. I will consider your request, thank you!

Dear You, consider yourself lucky as your husband isn't demanding you to work. I assume you are not a seasoned homemaker so this is the perfect time to get used to that role. Enjoy the home and the foundation you and your husband are creating (he going outside and you staying in) before children. Welcoming a baby is a life changing event in itself so it is so much better for everyone if you are not trying to figure out everything concerning homemaking at the same time! As to your mother, learn to see her as a human being. As a child we tend to think our parents are here for us (as they are), or they should be (as they should) but as you grow up you need to mature in a way that you let go of their status as givers of final word. Of course you should love and respect them (as everyone else) but develop a new sense of yourself as ''an authority'' as well as together with your husband (as future parents) Your mother is a woman getting older (that's hard!) and she is afraid for being forgotten or becoming insignificant. Love her anyway. Another thing is that if you are living your marriage differently than she, she may feel uncomfortable regarding her choices in life (perhaps there's envy as well). That's what I meant by seeing your mother as a human being - she has her fears and perhaps regrets she isn't wanting to face. As to myself, all I ever wanted was to be a mother and a homemaker. The homemaker part didn't happen until I was in my mid 40's (minus a few years I stayed at home when the children were really small.) My father has had hard time understanding my (and our) decisions, but that's ok. If you are interested in having a listening ear please don't hesitate to contact me ♥
