Aside from all the jokes, what you see here is how trades used to be passed on. How the job is done, giving of confidence, how to deal with customers. This went on for centuries. Sadly it’s lacking today and it’s great to see it happening here, I’d love to see it come back everywhere!

You make it look so easy so much so that as a complete beginner, I tried to repoint and repair small red brick garden wall and just couldn't manage to keep the bricks clean. Couldn't get the mortar mix right, either too runny or too dry. Handling trowel was really difficult with mortar over the place. It's a true art form and must take years to get as good as you. Could do with some training from the old brickie!
