It works if you press I/O but first the key must be tuned to 1 or 2. The green LED with the cruise control symbol on will light up. But cruise control can't be active before speed is > 30 Km/h It' works perfect on my E46 and I just love it :)

Just fixed everything. The cruise works perfectly. And I changed the throttle body too :) Lastly I had problem with wrong position of clutch pedal switch - stay open when the pedal is at rest. But I found the right position finally :)

Yes the pin 37 is empty. So if yours isn't better double check if you have found the right pin in the connector. The pin is only with cable in E46's with installed cruise control. Pin numbers can be seen on the buttom part of the black plastic connector

A 320d Diesel does not have any actuator. It uses only injectors which is controlled by the OBD. So when you fitted the cable it just works

I use the following words in my search on google to get the installation manual. "bmw e46 mfl retrofit pdf" Im not sure, but it seems like you can only install it models from 2001 to 2005 E46. If you have an older model you would probably need a new throttle body also. At least for the gas engines. For diesel engines from 1998 to 2000 it might work, im not sure.

Hi, The plastic insulation for the connectors is contained in the BMW wiring harness kit you will need from BMW. No. 61 12 0 016 012 Kit contains 3 wires with sleeves, male and female connectors and sleves for old and new versions to the DDE connector. Just all what you need.

Yes you can make the cruise control on a 99 as well. But the connectors in the DDE will be different and the blue cable must be connected to another pin. It's described in the official BMW retrofit sport wheel manual you can download everywhere

Yes. That was my first change. I think with this video as help you can manage it in 1-2 hours. Just make sure you get the official BMW pdf manual for this job. Can be found using Google. You need to know exactly which wires to cut

To be able to control the radio, all you need to do is push in the two connectors behind the airbag. Well actually one is for the LED light in the buttons on the steering wheel and the other connector is for all the buttons on the steering wheel. You don't have to connect anything else to control the radio (I asume you use the OEM BMW radio)

Hi, nice job!. I have a question if I may.. Do you know if the cables in the connectors go in different positions in a right hand drive car?? I mean cables in pins 10, 9 and 8 I followed all the instruction but did not work. I the only difference with my car is that the steering wheel is in the right side. I would appreciate any help. The wirering is the same on RHD cars, so maybe double check the cable colors. The colors are VERY close to each other. White and grey, blue and magenta,....I almost chose the wrong color wires because they look so similar

Hello why you don't connect directly tve Blue cable in 58 why you have to connect A8 before and solder them after ?

First you activate the Cruise Control on the I/O button. Then you just speed the car with the pedal to what you prefer and press the + button to hold the speed.

Hello, excellent job!. May I ask you something? I bought a e39 1999 with a multi functional steering wheel, but the abs module was not working so I could not check the cruise control. The thing is that the car does not have cruise control, just the steering wheel but the buttons are not connected. How do I know if I can do this retrofit on my car, because I thought I need the cruise control unit and all the controls for the engine. Thank you very much

Nej der skal monteres 3-4 ledninger i alt. Ikke så svært hvis man følger BMWs manual og min video. Men hvis din BMW har et rat med knapperne så slipper du for at montere ledningerne.

You should double check that you cut and connected to the right cables at the light switch module. Two of the cables are VERY close in their colors. I almost cut the wrong cable because the grey and magenta colors are so close to each other. (I have color vision, but still very hard to locate right colors)

Got kit BMW 61 012 0 016 012 Connector on the wire doesn't fit to DDE (M47TU) The shape of the socket in white DDE connector doesn't match to the connector on the end of the wire (blue or black) These connectors have "notch" on one corner for proper orientation (and it match to the green connector under steering wheel) But in DDE connector, there is no "notch", instead of that, one corner has kind of "cutout"

ALL buttons work. Engaging cruise control, up/down volume on radio, shifting radio station or track on CD, voice control if car if fitted with that. And no coding needed it just works.

salut fratioare ;) acceleratia e electronica e 320D si butoanele de pe volan functioneaza ! deci sunetu de la CD- si Radio merg ! si butoanele de la Cruise controll sunt active daca apas butonul in Inpa se vede ca functioneaza :) si seara se aprinde si lumina pe butoanele de la volan :) Dar nu pot sa activez Cruise control :( nu se aprinde pe bord becu verde :(

you can only put the terminal into the connector if you fully disassemble the connector as I show in the video

What an orginal piece of work. You motivated me for doing it on my 2005 model 318i. I am back in UAE so I can't say if I can buy this facelift steering. (we don't have ebay yet!).. I didn't skipped a single part of video but I think you never showed the main cruise control module getting connected. Lastly mine is Gasoline, while your model seems Diesel, would that make difference? I mean where can I find DDE equivalent. (sorry for a stupid question)

Hey, I drive a 318d E46 touring bj2003. I was told that for installing cruise control, you need to pass by the car dealer, because their computer has to give a pulse to make the cruise control work. (as if the computer teaches the car it can use it) But I see no such thing in this movie. Is that correct? Because I have the cable installed, but the dealer wants to charge me 150 euro up to 250 euro just to make it work...

no you don't need to flash anything in the DDE computer. The car has build in software support for cruise control when it leaves the factory. It has also the LED and Cruise Control symbol soldered onto the PCB. All you need is the kit with 3 wires and the connectors which cost about 20 Euro. There are no trick, just follow my steps in the video and it works

You have probably connected it to the wrong wires on Plug X12. The colors are VERY close to each other. I almost picked the wrong color wires my self because they match so close. I think Violet and Blue and Grey looks the same.

Yes I tried it out before I recorded the last part Im not sure you can install the stearing wheel onto a 99'. Its because this airbag uses a 2 stage airbag unit and your 99 has only a 1 stage.

The short A7-A8 cablee is only needed to fit in the X60002 connector. You will only have to use one of the two short cables, either the blue or the black depending on the type of connector you have
