Jews was in Captavity in Babylon the scriber and sanedrin got to gather and the deside meaning the Rabies to Burn the Books on the Great Kings of Babylon. The Book on the Great King Of Juda and the Gerat Kings of Isriel and re wrote thre circulars history as to show how they were related to Aabraham and to show linage to Adam an Eve. I'm going to say something alot of you in this comment section will not like but we need to have this discussion. In Bob Marley song tittled REDEMPTION SONG he sings "emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds" Alot of religious Africans have lost their damn minds and refuse to face the reality in front of them. Whether it is JESUS, ALLAH or Jehovah you worship if that religion doesn't empower you throw it away, its useless. Before I proceed I want to clearly state that my frustration isn't with the religions Africans practice but rather how we practice it. Nat Turner read the bible. He was a Christian but also a slave and when the time came to fight for his freedom he didn't hesitate. The Haitians in one voice called on their African Gods like the Almighty Ogun..the Yoruba God of War and he answered they call as they battled the French for their freedom in the island of Haiti. Today we have a lot of Cowards..bloody spineless cowards who choose to hide their cowardice behind religious piety. That's the problem we have. Wake Soyinka is speaking the truth and we have to ask ourselves..How can we worship the same god our oppressor and colonizers worshipped?. Aren't we all God's children? Aren't we all equal in God's eyes?. Where was our "mighty father who art in heaven" when his demonic spawn from Europe descended on us. Where was he during slavery?. Where was he during the genocide in Rwanda?. Where was he when France was assassinating our African leaders who really wanted the best for us?. Where was he during Apartheid as The True South Africans were being oppressed in their native land by Dutch scum they had once welcomed and shown hospitality? Where was this "loving god" during Jim Crow, Lynchings, the destruction of successful Black American neighborhoods? Where is our father now as Africans are being brutalized in Libya or beheaded in Saudi Arabia? Hmm? What about the DRC being ravaged by the Ebola virus, where was Christ? Where was Christ when minions of the UN went into Kenya and sterilized 500,000 black girls? Where was he? Before you come preaching to me about the "love of Jesus". You must first show me where and when he has ever shown us love. How and why should we crave love that has never and will never be given to us. Right now the genocide of Black Americans at the hands of police in the U.S. is only getting worse where is this "powerful god" you keep telling me to worship? Religion has robbed you of your ability to think. Don't ask me to submit myself to something so dangerous...a religion that doesn't empower you is dangerous and useless.. Let it go!!!!!!!

It is not religion that causes intolerance. It is intolerance that uses religion", The leaders of such movements are using moral and religious language as a cloak for evil and irreligious ends",religions are not the causes of evil, but they do naturally share in the general moral state of the societies in which they exist".Any organized human activity can be corrupted, the corruptions of religion, although highly regrettable, are less harmful than the corruptions of secular ideologies of Atheism Nazism, Leninism and Maoism all claimed the support of science. In addition most religions have within themselves a powerful critique of evil that all by human are capable of.

Wole Soyinka blames religion for the "troubles it causes", but he should really be talking of the trouble the churches cause because of their differences with each other and the bigotry, homosexuality, pedaphilia and greed of the church. Religion is direct between the person and God and there IS no trouble because the church plays no part.

@@awelechukwuemeka1382 that is over generalizing it.
