When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said 'Let us pray.' We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land. Desmond Tutu

This statement is misleading. I think the Africans didn't give away their land to the missionaries. Rather, they gave their lands to the colonialist - not missionaries. And the land was not taken from them. They gave it. away.

@franklee8483

If Christianity is right, then having respect for the opinions of people who are leading themselves to hell would be to advocate their demise. If I say red means stop and green means go, and someone else believes it's the other way around, it's not that I don't respect them, it's that I love them and I don't want them to die in traffic. If we love people, it's not a matter of us not having respect for others, it's a matter of us wanting to set people free from the prison of thinking that God doesn't love them which they don't even realize they are in. The love of God hurts those who choose to trust what the world tells them, but the love of God frees those who choose to believe what His Word tells them, and you shouldn't criticize a system of belief for being sincere, honest, and loving, by falsely labeling what true Christianity is as disrespectful. Christ dying for our sins to set us free from them is anything but disrespectful.

@@franklee8483 and, if Christianity is wrong, they're sinning by lying and fearmongering and dragging people away from paths that they were happy on. @franklee8483
@franklee8483 3 жыл бұрын
@@catatoblob8598 You said, "based on no evidence", even though Christianity itself is the basic logical conclusion anyone with even just a decent amount of sense would come to if they weren't self-focused and instead were willing to acknowledge the evidence that the entire universe offers them every single day. Christianity is the only religion that isn't merely based on either philosophy or unverifiable claims, but historical accounts that can be verified by extra biblical sources, not to mention fulfilled prophecies that cannot be denied when honestly evaluated. Not to mention if Christianity weren't the one true faith in the world, then why is it that there is a spirit of anti-Christ everywhere you look in our fallen world of sin and selfish greed? But there isn't a spirit of anti-Buddha, or anti-Hindu, or anti-Daoism, etc. everywhere in the world because people who are self-focused don't want the truth of their behavior made known to them, and Christianity is the only religion that forces people to face the wickedness of their own depravity in rebellion against God (against Love itself). This is why Christianity makes people angry, because it forces them to acknowledge the Truth, the truth of themselves, and the truth of God, and the truth of the value He has placed upon the life of every human soul, and that is evidence in and of itself that Christianity is the only path to the Truth. But it goes even further, because logical deduction alone brings you to Christ, because the universe couldn't exist without a God, and an infinite and eternal God would not create a universe of unimaginable suffering which He himself would have to be subjected to unless He had a sufficient reason for doing so (Love), being that an infinite and eternal being would be all-consuming, meaning anything that happens within his creation He himself would have to endure (suffering). Psalm 139:8, "If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there." Without the love of God being given to us, we wouldn't be able to see the light in the darkness of our self-deception, and even though the Truth of God's love for us comes with a certain amount of pain due to our rebellion against him, it is only by pushing through that pain that we can be brought into the light on the other side. Christ is the one who tore that veil, and without him all we have are opinions, but he is the Truth, and through his love for us we can know the Love of God for us, but only if we accept it by accepting what he did for us, both on the cross and in the tomb, when he conquered the death that sin leads us to, because he gave us the power to overcome it and to roll the stone away. You say there's no evidence, but every man and woman on the face of the Earth whose life has been utterly transformed for good, who have been brought out of the darkness of self-deception and into the love of God, they are testimonies to the glory and the Truth of God's Word. They are the evidence, every other religion falls short. So here is a comment from a friend of mine who put it very nicely explaining how Christianity can be concluded by basic common sense... (another post)
@franklee8483
@franklee8483 3 жыл бұрын
@@catatoblob8598 JAY DEE: "Man Eleazar, for someone who makes a lot of claims about the Bible, you sure don't understand it very well. Abraham's son was not meant to be sacrificed. God showed Abraham that because Abraham was willing to obey God (Love - 1st John 4:8) to whatever extent Love / God commanded him, God would send his own Son to take the place of man, so that our own son's (like Abraham's) would not have to pay their own price. But in order to receive that gift, one must be willing to accept it, which means not squandering it by choosing to pursue sin instead of God, / Love, because that is not acceptance, it's rejection. A God of love would not force his will upon anyone, because forced intimacy (making someone do what you want) otherwise known as rape, isn't something that a God of love would ever do. And Yes, we can know for certian that if there is a God, who has a mind, He is Love in his very nature and in his character, and NO, it isn't wishful thinking. Why? Because of simple logical deduction, and basic common sense. I'll elaborate: Everything that comes into existence has a cause, and everything produced by a cause contains attributes of the cause that created it. For example a cause cannot produce an object that can move unless its cause (or its creator) is capable of momentum itself. An apple seed cannot produce an orange tree, something without a mind cannot produce a thought, etc. The only known source of information that human beings know of is a mind. For example if you see a coded symbol written in a language delivering information, you know a mind is behind it. And what do we know about all life? DNA is a chemical language encoded by symbols as a means of delivering specific information necessary for anything alive to exist. All living things move towards that which is desirable and away from that which is undesirable, and willpower removes obstacles from its path. If a living mind has been produced into the world, then a mind was necessary to create it because nothing can produce something which it does not possess inherently. A mindless universe cannot produce a mind, much like a chicken egg cannot come into existence unless there is a chicken to lay the egg. The science all points to Deism, so how do we then get to Christian Theism, here we go: If there is a mind powerful enough to create the universe, then nothing can stop it from pursuing that which is most desirable for it. The most desirable thing that all human beings know of is love, and when we look at every other emotion besides love we see that love is responsible for all of it. Every other emotion is a byproduct of love itself; for example even hatred is only the product of someone losing what they love. If you hate the taste of something, it is only because it took away the neutral state of comfort you normally enjoy when you aren't tasting anything and then it replaced that neutrality with something worse. You loved the neutral state, you lost it for something worse, now you hate that which took away what you loved, etc. Every other emotion is contingent upon love, our emotions determine how we feel, and what we feel determines what we desire, and as we have already established all forms of life (with minds) move towards that which is desirable. If God exists, He transcends all of that which we see in existence but contains all of the needed components necessary to create it. If our desires all revolve around love, stem from love, and are based on love, then love is the central beginning and end of every mind, the alpha and the omega of consciousness. God is self-aware because self-awareness is present in the universe, and God is the central beginning and end of everything that exists, including consciousness. So what is God? God is love, the thing around which all life orbits, specifically self-reflective intelligent life (the capacity to think about thinking), which is something only human beings possess. because as the Bible says we are made in the image of God. Life without love is like life without life, it simply doesn't work, and by trying to remove that which is the center of all life you are only creating an infinite void which only the one who belongs on that throne can fill. People can do that if they want, because God is love, and He has given us free will, but there are consequences which come with doing so, just like there are consequences for walking into a mine-field (sin) without a mine-detector (God's Word). You can do that if you want, but when you hear the click and you look around for someone to save you, and no one is there, remember, no one is there because you chose for no one to be there. Psalm 50:22, "Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you to pieces, and there be none left to rescue". Revelation 14:10, “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:” and finally John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Why? Because God is Love, but He is also infinitely Just, and the cross is the place where God's righteousness (His Justice) and his Love (His Mercy) meet, and salvation is the place where forgiveness and repentance meet. That's why the cross was necessary, to show us what it is we are truly doing when we sin, to give us the Spirit (the inspirational force) to repent and to turn to God for forgiveness. You could however turn away from sin, and receive the Spirit whom Jesus died on the cross to give, where every sin is washed away, where failures cannot be mentioned unto those within, where peace reigns eternal, where righteousness leads the way, and where that old reflection in the mirror has a permanent smile stretched across it that no one can ever take from you. Matthew 7:14, "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." where "God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things have passed away." - Revelation 12:4 I'll pray for you, but until you kneel before God yourself, and say your own prayer to him personally, for God to answer my prayer He's going to have to hit you with some Truth that you may not like very much until you have willfully chosen to receive it. Until then, the Truth to those who reject is like Hell, because "our God is a consuming fire" - Hebrews 12:29. But once you have accepted him, He is like paradise, "the fountain of living water" - Jeremiah 17:13"

Growing up a Christian we had this subconscious fear if we questioned any of what we were taught we would be judged. So its hard to remove yourself from it. Luckily I began to have spiritual experiences that weren't talked about at church or in the bible and figured there's more to God and the universe than we were taught. So I began to follow my heart and my souls yearning to leave the place I no longer resonated with. And leaving was the best thing I could of done for my mental health and my life. Reflecting back, having a wider perspective, I didn't even realise I wasn't questioning things for myself, I was a sheep and I was also blind to how hypocritical Christians can be and how the bible really does contradict itself. Its a book made by people hundreds of thousands of years ago that's been so rewritten and lost in translation that the true message Jesus was preaching was lost within the dogma and unnecessary traditional laws/ biased judgement towards people not like their own that he was trying to stop that now it's just a book of confusion, and though it helps you get onto a spiritual path it keeps you in the dark. I believe all religions are a piece of the puzzle, science is one of those puzzle pieces too and that Jesus and Buddha and other religions figures who were hundreds of years ahead of their time came to teach us of the knowledge being unearthed today about the spiritual aspect of the universe that many indigenous peoples already knew, that we are one with the universe and God is within and we reap what we sow with manifestation.

You see puppets like these all over the planet, in the UN, WTO or WHO etc. They go back to AFRICA boasting to other Africans that they were at a very important United Nations meeting. Then they expect praise on that basis alone. But they can't tell you a single policy, concession or ruling they fought for that benefit African people. This is why God create free will, he didn’t created robots, he wants to know who really love him by showing it in their actions & actually living by his commandments, but people rather choose in cause they love pleasure & hate righteousness which gives internal life.

For man to conflict an ingrained belief is only to restrain the spirit and hold it hostage. Sending a message is one thing. Forcing one to believe it, is absolutely another. See how simple that is? @@enniomojica7812 It requires definition and criteria of so called evil. A lot of things humans do escape the definition of evil yet it affects all of us. Environment and pollution are perfect example of it. Also invisible sky god places himself above nature and jealously demands everyone worship him only. God should be devoid of negative emotions like jealousy. Actually it is christian god that is is sky. Pagan gods are inside nature and nqture itself. It is their pervasive consciousness that is beyond space and time.

@@sheshankjoshi jealousy is not an evil trait necessarily. It only becomes evil when directed at the wrong object. You have every right to be jealous for the one you love and have sworn yourself to defend. God has done this, first to the Jews, then to all who would receive Him. He has made us his own beloved people and will jealously defend us from the Devil and his attempts to seduce us away. Allowing Environmental pollution is a sin of poor stewardship. It is a lack of respect for Gods creation and frequently stems from greed and selfish gain. That is not to say, however, that God intends for the earth to be a giant nature preserve uninhabited by man. In the book of Psalms it says that God assigned the earth to man, and created it to be fully inhabited.

I'm a proud heathen! Plus in a world where the Church pays no taxes yet their congregations get robbed of their yearly earnings by the government In a world where the most architecturally impressive churches RARELY open their doors to the homeless, that's left to charities but churches? Yeah I dont want that stinky bum sleeping my building! I met an African woman yesterday who worked insanely hard all her life to buy her first property...When I congratulated her she said "its all because of God!"...If you are the one who toiled and made the right choices and decisions, you are the one who did 17 hour shifts and you are the one who chose to get out of bed in the morning to have a meeting with a property agent...All praise due to your own efforts I reckon... And what cheek, a non tax paying body asking its members (who are struggling to make ends meet), to give them money... I've never seen a church or mosque or temple perform life saving surgery on anyone! I've never heard of any translation of the Bi Bull telling anyone to "Be happy and be free!" As a black man with no gods...Well there is that whole battle amongst darker hue people to be accepted by their 'people' when they don't believe...its the nature of people that drive me away from religion and faith. I've never took much stock in the writings I observe the people who take stock in such literature...and after 40 years...I'm not impressed.

calling human Sinners and saying we have free will is valid but it's valid up to only a point the Bible says God Is All knowing God knows us before we are formed and God forms us in our mother's womb so the children who got decides to give to people he knows will hurt and kill them God will enable that child suffering he knows the suffering will occur before he places them with the parents and choose this to anyway like is a teacher good if they give a student to a known serial killer is the teacher blameless because the serial killer use their free will to murder it's terrible sounding logic when applied to a person but people praise the God that would do the same thing according to the Bible the devil is also used as an argument but if we look at the story of job god gives Satan permission to do increasingly worse things to job until job has a breakdown and while he didn't curse god God put him in his place and job repented thinking of himself as nothing but Dust one thing that kind of disturbs me about that story is how easily replaceable job's family was to him in the end having an entirely new family and a restored land God can give Satan permission to destroy everyone you love but he'll replace them all in the end so why is anyone complaining it terrifies me that people genuinely think Like This 😂

The meeting up of Rome polytheism and Egypts polytheism led to early christ consciousness but the switch to monotheism fully and the disregard for mysticism and alchemy was a choice made to separate from the idea God and being human are the same thing. one could ask did Constantine actually believe or did he just pick the spirtuality with the most numbers to win a war. And in modern times we can compare nde experiences across the globe and see the differences so we can ask does serious devotional pratice to anything at all make us have the dreams and mental formations even outside physicality experiences differ from culture to culture. I think the human being got to a point of tribalism and serious devotional pratices Led to outside physicality experiences that took on mental formations that seriously impacted humanity with the ego or the I am right they're wrong attitude and of course historically religion and spirtuality was used as a power dynamic to clime to success and gain authoritarian control. You honestly need 100 black men/women Historians and archeologist and 100 white men/women and them groups of 100 of each to talk across the table at the crux of debate or discussion is where did humanity split and why did it split from polytheism and it would be good to have the Dalai Lama and say sadhguru and other Eastern Spirituality leaders there as well to have the discussion the problem is with governments wanting power and failing at compromise to share and the battle of globalistic influence and the billionaires influence in our world 🌎
