@@Channel66678 It is great advice and they’re absolutely correct. I work in EMS and we get calls for deceased persons frequently. If the person is above the age of 65, and there’s no foul play suspected (ie evidence of a struggle, irregular injuries, weapons at the scene, etc) the Medical Examiner won’t even bother to do an autopsy.. even if the family requests it. It’s that cut and dry. Of course, if the family wants one badly enough, they can hire an outside service to do it (private autopsies are costly though [around 2k] and I’ve personally never seen family opt for one). But to reiterate, an elder person could easily be poisoned or suffocated to death, and as long as the person covers their tracks, or enough time has passed that the body has started to decompose (12 hours), nobody’s going to blink an eye. As Neige stated though, if family or a neighbor was alerted that someone wished to harm them first, it might be enough for the medical examiner to investigate.. or at the very least have family willing to pay for a private autopsy.
