Hey Hazel, just my 2 cents. Rather than look into another investment plan which I assume would be ILPs, you might want to look into putting monthly sums into S&P500 which over a long period should yield an average of about 8% PA. ILPs has high fund management fees which might explain why you lost some money there. Whereas there’s many low cost ETFs that tracks the S&P500 such as Vanguard’s VOO. You can even invest your CPF OA monthly into ETF that tracks S&P500 via platforms like Endowus

Save 10 percent only? I am a singaporean chinese. Now married for more than 12 years. Me and my wife (then ex gf), when we dated, we already saved more than 70 percent of our salaries every month. Fast forward now with 2 kids and a maid, we still save 70 to 80 percent of our earned income. Because of that, we have no issues forking out monies for wedding, home renovations and big ticket items. No issues with holidays and dont need to purposely save up for a holiday. We already have the funds and still constantly save. When i mean save, we do invest and put the monies in high yield accoints as well. Not idling it to inflation corrosion.

I'm sorry, shouldn't these 3 women be earning much higher than the average Singaporean? These 3 women have 5-6 figures of Instagram followers, have multiple ventures and gigs, and have sponsorships and paid promotions. Each of them should be earning easily 20K SGD at least.

@bayernjames9546 yea exactly. They are sorta influencors and DJ right? I will assume that since they are media facing, must be earning north of 20k per month. But save 10 percent only? If that is true, that's really really bad financial practices. Means they have super high lifestyle inflation on their expenses that can only allow them to save 10 to 20 percent.

Germaine also living in her dad's given landed property right? So housing is free.. she is dating zouk's founder right? So maybe that explains. Bf pays for her dates... her papa also provide her luxurious housing. Save or don't save also don't matter hehe
