I've seen many very beautiful women go through that kind of grief. They either become very bitter or very conceited (or both). RARELY do they have Monica's quiet dignity and elegance. Though she may not be Meryl Streep, her acting chops are decent and even really good when cast in the right role and by a director who knows what he's doing. There are a few movies where she's SUBLIME even and no one could have done a better job than her! A cute kid, then not a cute teenager, then in my late teens and 20s I got a lot of attention for my looks. People treat you differently. They treat you better when they think you look good. Women that have always been pretty have no idea how it would feel to be seen as unappealing or as invisible. If they knew that pain they would see how lucky they are and how easy they have it. I never cared about women being jealous of me because my life was so much better than when i was invisible. I actually felt pity for those women.
