They didn’t tell Jennifer Aniston they were throwing a dummy down the stairs, so the reaction you see is her real reaction to thinking David Schwimmer fell. She even screamed “David!” Also David and Cole’s real reaction to pranking her.

The break thing drove me crazy in the later seasons. The argument was never whether they were/weren't on a break. The argument was that each one had a different idea of what "being on a break" meant. Rachel saw it as an intermission - a break from the relationship where they wouldn't see anyone else until they sorted out their issues. Ross saw it as a break-up. Edit: The point of this comment was to highlight that the writers apparently forgot the meaning behind the one of the most pivotal plot points in the show ... That they wrote. Not to debate which character was in the wrong. It was an obvious miscommunication/misinterpretation on both sides but, both firmly established - before any wrongdoing - that they WERE taking a break. To have one insist that that never happened seems absurd to me.

Ross was mostly in the wrong in the end, even if it was a break, nobody who truly loves someone would go fuck someone else a few hours after a breakup unless they are assholes.

Rachel is on a roll here (and in season 8), seeing Chandler and Monica prepare for their wedding is fun, Phoebe is iconic as always, Ross has some cool storylines and Joey is OK. If anything, seasons 9 and 10 are the weakest ones, but they still have funny bits. I'm curious to see your reaction to the S07 finale.
