However, Carol's powers weren't the only ones that Rogue had permanently absorbed. After she lost Carol's powers, she absorbed Sunfires powers permantly, when he died. When they couldn't adopt Carol's powers, they could have Rogue absorb Sunfire, which is an X-Men character and Fox had the rights for this character.

The reason Mr Sinister is so obsessed with Scott, Jean and the summers family is because Scott and his family has Superior DNA. Meaning Scott has the perfectly pure mutant genes to create omega level mutants. The superior DNA also gives members of the Summers the potential to supass omega level. Scott has a third brother Gabrielle summers aka Vulcan who's beyond omega level. With Jean already being an Omega, Sinister knew a child born between the two would be absolutely unstoppable. Sinister also owned and ran the orphanage Scott lived in he abused and experimented on him for years.

Actually Apocalypse isn't the first mutant. When he was first introduced back in the day he was presented as being the first mutant, but that is no longer the case. Selene is 17,000 years old and Azazel is something like 15,000 years old. There are some more that predate Apocalypse as well. He is the first of what is considered the "second generation" of mutants.

This show was truly amazing. It brought back so many memories as a kid in the 90s who watched the original on tv on Saturday mornings on Fox kids. Wolverine, Storm, Gambit, Rogue and Nightcrawler were my favorites. So many crazy moments to Storm losing her powers to getting them back. Gambit sacrifice to save the mutants during the Genosha massacre. The back and forth relationships amongst the characters. The best Marvel show so far. I can't wait for season 2. Time travel can be funky. But, I think that Scott and Jean being in the future isn't changing anything. For adult Cable, Jean and Scott being in the future is part of his past. We as fans will just be seeing whatever happened while they were there. So from a canon respect, Jean and Scott always went into the future and encountered a younger Cable. Something similar happened in the comics in a limited series called "The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix". In that case, Scott and Jean's minds were taken into the future and put into two bodies. In this story, Cable was still a baby and they raised him from then until he was like thirteen if I recall correctly. They actually helped train him in the use of his telepathy and telekinesis.

As a long-time X-Men fan and fan of the original series, even though I wasn't born when the show was around, HOLY S*** , THIS SERIES IS EXCEPTIONAL (pun intended). Now this is how you do a tv show revival successfully! No joke, this series is so masterfully well written, with absolutely phenomenal animation and truly compelling characters and complex, deep, dark themes that genuinely make you question the inherent societal bigotry and how to process internal thoughts of fighting for equality and how to do so in a way to help society grow from the status quo of discrimination and to do more than allow yourself to become numb to a neverending struggle that you feel like isn't your responsibility. Truthfully, this series is some of the *BEST MARVEL MEDIA WE'VE EVER SEEN SINCE ENDGAME* (except No Way Home, GOTG3 and Loki)! Compared to how phenomenal this series was, Fox movies seem like amateur student films with such a bare-bones understanding of how truly incredible and insane the X-Men stories can be when you truly hire people who care about these amazing characters. After watching this show and its epic finale, Bastion became one of my favourite X-Men/Marvel villains. Theo James especially gave a superb performance as Bastion; now, whenever I read a comic featuring Bastion, I'll hear his voice. Not only him but the entire voice cast, especially for Cyclops, Magneto, Storm, Jean, Charles, Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, Wolverine, Morph, and Nightcrawler, all did a tremendous job. Bro; the number of cameos in this series is insane! Cyclops and Jean saying goodbye to Cable/Nathan had me in tears🥺. 10/10 SEASON 1 I NEED A SEASON 2 NOW!!!

Ok, so the way that absolute points seem to work is that the event that will mark a turning point for the timeline is inevitable, you can try to change it but it will happen eventually in another way (i.e. Strange trying to prevent Christine's death by not going to the gala but her dying in a restaurant of a heart attack or because of a gas leak in her building) but what you do after the absolute point can actually change and lead you to a different future. In the case of this series, the absolute point is the Genosha massacre, that cannot be changed, maybe you could delayed it but it will happen eventually, Bastion's war against mutants would happen thanks to that but in this timeline the X-men were able to defeat him unlike the timeline where Cable is from, so yes, they changed the future again because they were able to "defeat" Bastion.

57:50 Well actually this might come as a surprise but Mystique being Nightcrawler's mother isn't canon anymore and was retconed just a few months ago in X-Men Blue: Origins #1. Actually it's less of a retcon and instead the new comic restores the original history devised by Mystique’s co-creator, Chris Claremont of having Mystique and her wife Destiny be the biological parents of Nightcrawler. Destiny is the one who gave birth to Kurt and Mystique had transformed into a male form to procreate thus making Mystique Nightcrawler's father.

My favorites characters since a kid: Wolverine (number 1 🤷🏾‍♂️) Kurt (nightcrawler) Gambit Hank (beast) Ororo( storm) Mystique Havok (the second oldest Summers brother) Pyro I played with all these characters on the x-men fighting games in the early 2000s , iykyk . I was born in 95 so I got to grow up with almost any and everything in the mid 90s and beyond.

I don't know if they are still affordable, but there is a comic book series from the 80's and 90's called "Classic X-Men", which starts right at the All-New, All-Different book, when Storm, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Colossus first joined the X-Men, and continued on for about a hundred issues. Since they are just reissues, they remain cheap, but the kicker is: there's an original story on the "back side" for the first 50 issues or so. Much more affordable than buying the original Uncanny X-Men comics, some of which are hundreds if not thousands of dollars at this point.

I personally prefer the episode-by-episode reaction. I know you joked about it, but having to sit on Gambit's death for weeks to get closure was an experience, something that fans and friends were talking to each other about. It was something you missed out on, which I think affects your viewing on the later episodes. Plus, these longer binges take some commitment to watch all the way through. It's easier to keep up with you with episodes of shorter duration.

My wife's favorite is Gambit. She was annoyed with the original series because all he did was flick cards. Then in episode 5 Gambit is doing awesome things, then he dies. For those who don't know Cable's real powers.... The Techno-organic virus that he was infected with turns organic matter (like the human body) into metal, wires and cables (like his name), bolts and nuts. The thing is that the baby Nathan was never cured of the techno-organic virus that he was infected with (by Apocalypse in the comics, and by Lister Sinister in this series), his "robotic" arm is his real arm. Cable has also huge telekinetic powers, in par or even superior to those of Jean Grey, but he very rarely uses them in a showy way because he's constantly using his powers to contain the TO virus in him so that it doesn't spread to the rest of his body and stays confined to his left arm (and some other parts).
