Great video, I have an original Xbox 360 Elite (not E but the original with the 120GB HDD) that I'm restoring myself. I should point out that the Xbox 360 had a failsafe built in to prevent modifications to the console, the DVD drive for example will only read DVDs if you don't swap the old DVD drive's mainboard into the new drive, due to a firmware key stored on the drive's mainboard. I just did this with my own Xbox 360 recently. The colors are amazing though Edit: Three of my favorite games! 24:34-25:38

Great job on this xbox! I only have one small thing that annoys me a bit. You didn't need that much thermal paste. Two pea sized drops of thermal paste is all you need for even a bit ass chip like that. But still a really good job all around!!

If the dvd drive board isn't the same, then he faked it, it is impossible to make it work without the proper keys, and in this kind of boards you need to do rgh first in order to get them (and use a custom dvd board, you can't just grab a random one from another console)

He probably got a new drive, took the board out of the old drive and put it in the new drive. As long as the board isn't broken, it's easy to replace the disc drive.

Xbox 360 E still have mine. Still going strong, don't play to much tbh as gaming days have long gone but the 360 was where some of my best online gaming memories came from. Battlefield bad co 2 with the Vietnam expansion! My god it was legendary. Dark souls, the original one of my favourite RPGs along side dragons dogma dark arisen. Too many great games on this console. So many good people who sadly I don't talk to anymore. Never forget the great times and community. Hope your all well. Take care

Nicely done man, great job but i recommend that u spray a clear coat paint on top of the base paint so it wouldn’t get that scratched up easily
