Im a HP certified tech. Looks like the motherboard was replaced and whoever replaced it did not finish branding it. My hat is off to you for getting HP to assist with getting the DMI programmed on that laptop. You have done everything I have always been curious about, very good video my friend and you just got a subscriber. Those old HP EliteBooks are tanks and perform fairly well considering their age. I had an EliteBook 8470 until a few months ago, I upgraded (sorta) to an EliteBook 9480 which is a lot smaller and newer but not quite as powerful.

there is a special chip that has both graphics and cpu in one , in this laptop it already has intel graphics automatically but you can also use 2 graphics i think or maybe 1 that's better. there is an option to just use a regular cpu too according to the 6475b manual

Hi bro, all depends from the laptop, some of the A series are upgradable, in this case i go with A10. Also to compare the CPU you can search the google, there is a lot of pages where you can compare CPU's and other hardware

Hi bro, in this case check the Boot Options in Bios, In Bios set the boot option to support the booth Uefi and Legacy, if is not working than try to connect and disconnect the disk again or update the bios

The laptop is pretty powerful especially after the upgrade. You could play Doom and Overwatch with medium setting at repectsble FPS. I have an Acer 5560G with AMD A10 and 2gb radeon graphic card and I could play stuff like Skyrim and StarCraft 2 on high setting all day. Do be wary with thermal issue tho. People call them "housefire" for a reason. Regular cleaning, using high quality thermal paste and laptop fan is recommendable

Why not converting the disk from MBR to GPT? So you have the boot loading under the HP logo.

When you change to GPT logo is only least thing. It is a completely other filesystem and you require another type of installation

The 4600M uses the FS1 socket if memory serves, with the A10 5750M being the best CPU for the socket, but I never see it getting used, ususally opting for a A10 4600m instead. I'm aware the 5750M is ARM based, making it already less desirable, but is there any other reason this CPU isn't used?

because it doesn't say that it's supported directly on the service manual for this laptop. even if it fits perfectly in the socket the chipset may not support it and would require you to desolder it off

But if I'm going to buy some laptops then first I'm searching the local computer stores that sell used computers because there is easy to negotiate for the price, I'm checking the local websites or pages where peoples sell their old stuff ( in almost any country or town you can find some Facebook page or local based websites where peoples sell some stuff ). The other place is eBay, on eBay you can make good deal also, find something with normal price and parts. And I'm using Aliexpress, on Aliexpress you can find parts with normal and lower price
