One changes I would make is to throw away the CD drive and replace it with 2.5 hdd caddy and add 1TB hard drive. Would complement really well with the Kingston 120gb SSD.

Yeah no. I've tried these games on HD3000 graphics and they definitely are not playable. Some well below 30fps and CS:GO can't maintain 30fps minimums.

@@haxorinator8219 ya I even on a 2600k desktop i7 and overclocked, those games simply wont play well Bad company 2 would be in the 20s and teens if you do 720p, csgo can be played in 800x600 but the framerate is not even going to touch 60 To be fair, many last gen AAA games could be played on it with low enough resolution

I also have this same laptop n5050. It has stock intel i3 and hd graphics 3000 and i've played GTA 4, Battlefield 3, CSGO, THE walking dead all seasons, The wolf among us, Bully, Harry Potter all parts, mafia 2, assaains creed revelations and many other medium spec games. It seems junk but it's pretty great for a potato pc. And i am still playing those games with minimal or no lag ai 30 fps. Thanks to some youtube tips❣️❣️❣️🤣

I got one of these in pieces, no screws, broken screen, no hard disk and it rained on its parts, but mine had an I5 2410m. I replaced its screen with another one I had laying around from an old netbook, put a 240gb SSD on it, added more ram (total 8gb now) and now I use it as my daily driver. Ill add a caddy to it and upgrade the motherboard someday.

Thank you bro and thank you for subscribing. If you want clean install then you need access to macOS but that doesn't mean actual Mac. You can download and install macOS in virtual machine in Windows and there you can create Boot USB installer. ( this is my old guide about creating Boot USB kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnurnYFneJqjhtk ) You need access in macOS because almost all tools are available for macOS only

Wow, that's a great find for that price, but the amount of work you put in is what's truly astonishing! All that's missing IMO is: A battery improvement by replacing the 18650 cells in the battery with higher capacity and higher quality cells An external GPU through the mini PCIe slot (maybe even removable with USB integrated WiFi if you're good with soldering) A hard drive instead of a CD/DVD Drive for large files and games.

I don't understand. How did the BIOS recognize the i7 when the website said only up to i5 was supported? Is the chipset allow the i7 because it's the same socket??

Can be a bit pot luck. But what is officially supported and what actually works is often different. If you look up what CPU's the chipset on your motherboard supports, theres a good chance of said CPU's working even if not officially supported by your motherboard's manufacturer...

@Random Ryan Often for things like this, it just means said CPU hasn't been tested with the board. The manufacturer won't list it as compatible unless tested, but its rare to actually block untested CPUs that are compatible...

@@6robfoot That's not a security function, that's a temperature sensor telling the CPU its overheating and protecting the CPU by shutting itself off. If you can figure out a way of cooling the CPU your good. Install "hardware monitor" (free download) from cupid and run it to see the CPU temps. They'll be in the red I assure you.

No they will probably have less of a heating issue, because it will be harder for a normal user to max out the capabilities of this machine. Also, an SSD does not create heat like a normal hard drive would, so that in it self removed a small percentage of heat in side that old computer's set up. Plus he cleaned the inside very well so air circulation should not be an issue.

The N5050 is pretty good to use as long as you have some patience with it. I've had it myself. Upgraded the RAM to 8GB and it worked fine. but you don't have to expect to run mid range games on it and high workloads to run normal on it.

Hi bro, i'm not exactly sure about brand or type, but this skin is pretty thick, just skin is like a A4 paper from printer and is little bit more expensive than others. i got this skin in local car vinyl workshop, but these foils/skins are available on ebay also with worldwide cheap or free shipping

Using high TDP with one fan will make your laptop heat. You should have been used the 35W max CPU.

I had a very similar laptop (Dell N4050) and it was amazing. Mine was super busted tho (it had a *rough* life) but took it like a champ. In it's later years I took the motherboard apart and used it as an AIO specifically for StepMania + a metal pad but then upgraded to a better setup. I still have the MB in a drawer and last time I checked it was STILL working lmao. Ridiculously tough.

I once tried to disassemble an HP laptop... Well, since then I stay away from laptops. But this Dell looks so friendly and easy to play with.
