Wow, that's a great find for that price, but the amount of work you put in is what's truly astonishing! All that's missing IMO is: A battery improvement by replacing the 18650 cells in the battery with higher capacity and higher quality cells An external GPU through the mini PCIe slot (maybe even removable with USB integrated WiFi if you're good with soldering) A hard drive instead of a CD/DVD Drive for large files and games.

@cyrilthefish
@cyrilthefish 5 жыл бұрын
Can be a bit pot luck. But what is officially supported and what actually works is often different. If you look up what CPU's the chipset on your motherboard supports, theres a good chance of said CPU's working even if not officially supported by your motherboard's manufacturer...
@cyrilthefish
@cyrilthefish 5 жыл бұрын
@Random Ryan Often for things like this, it just means said CPU hasn't been tested with the board. The manufacturer won't list it as compatible unless tested, but its rare to actually block untested CPUs that are compatible...

No they will probably have less of a heating issue, because it will be harder for a normal user to max out the capabilities of this machine. this can be okay, if there are models with higher tdp in laptop's lineup. Since cooling is the same most of the time.

@@romanmakarov4973 You are wrong. I was gonna buy highest CPU for my laptop but it was 45W instead 35W. Then i found my laptop same model with high CPU and the topic was not CPU. Topic was "My Laptop Goes Heat Even Idle"

I had a very similar laptop (Dell N4050) and it was amazing. Mine was super busted tho (it had a *rough* life) but took it like a champ. In it's later years I took the motherboard apart and used it as an AIO specifically for StepMania + a metal pad but then upgraded to a better setup. I still have the MB in a drawer and last time I checked it was STILL working lmao. Ridiculously tough.

I was thinking of doing something useful with some of my older laptops instead of throwing them away because throwing away older laptops is basically wasting and the things I plan on doing with one of my old laptops is adding 2 screens on each sides of the laptop
