I love Kalan! It’s like an airy sweetness with a floral center, to my nose. I’ve seen how many people claim to dislike it, but I love it! For me it’s a bit of a wildcard, full moon, creative adventurous night out with friends, in a coastal city ✨🌕 I think it’s loud. I’d be wearing orange or red, funky shoes and some crystals with this one. It’s definitely like an eccentric, alluring, polarizing artist’s fragrance. The performance is toppppp notch too

For those not too familiar with the PDM line based on scent profile, ease of wear, versatility, everyday, every season, all round projection, sillage, longevity, being inoffensive... a fragrance 99% of ppl would enjoy smelling on you, Percival would be the best choice. There's this weird hate towards it because it's straight forward, inoffensive and just works lool like the fact that it's so well rounded is it's downfall now 😂

Price will always be subjective but I think a high quality everyday fragrance that covers all seasons and all situations with longevity, performance, scent profile and compliment factor shouldnt get lost because it doesn't have a weird coffee note or something 😂

I love how we interpret scents differently. Layton exclusif is one of my favourites of all time and I was surprised to see pegasus exclusif so low. To me pegasus exclusif smells exactly like layton exclusif but without the apple note.

Either me or my son own the following PdMs, so I wear them regularly and have pretty refined preferences. The others I have all tried, and none has caused me to purchase it yet. IMO percival is better than sedley, percival opening is amazing, the mid amazing, the drydown amazing, sedley is great but the first 2 hours it smells like synthetic lemon mixed with sprite, after that it settles and the lavender kicks in which smells GREAT, just my opinion, the best from the house is OAJAN for me, but the best freshie is a toss up between PERCIVAL and greenley.

Kalan was my first ever PDM purchase lol I was at the mall and I smelled about 10 of them and as soon as I smelled Kalan I was so caught off guard with how different it was that I immediately bought it. I totally understand if you don't like it because it's a very different smell from the rest of their instant crowd-pleasing selections. I love basically every PDM fragrance and my current favorites are Layton, Althair, and Herod because of how easy they are to wear. Kalan is a random reach for me but I still love it to this day.

May I say, I love the way you described each fragrance, it’s a unique perspective, it’s not just notes, it’s how they are actually perceived. I have Kalan, I very much like it but I don’t disagree that it could be polarizing. I get this very bright, crisp orange citrus with floral undertones, and a bit of spice in the opening. The sweetness and lavender are just so fresh and bright. When it dries down and develops it becomes woody and blends with the florals and the spice softens. Once got a compliment that it’s very nice and woody 😅 The key is not to overspray, it’s such an overpowering scent. Even just spraying on my fingers and rubbing on heat points, it projects like a monster sometimes especially in high heat, so it is daring. It’s better for probably mid spring sunny weather where it’ll be earthy and floral.

I never understood the appeal for Layton Exclusif. I tried it multiple times, for me it loses the speacial qualties Layton has but adds nothing that raises it above. Hey Monika, thanks for your well produced videos and your entertaining content, presented by a lovely woman with an angelic, calming, warming voice, which is catching and soooo addictive to hear... I agree with most things you have told. I also dont like Kalan. These dominant burnt rubber baccara rouge vibes dont fit very well to the grapefruit and woodsy notes imho. This thing is demanding and disharmonic to me. Althair is quite ok, but not worth the hype, nothing very innovative. Just mix by the fireplace or even cheaper lattafa ameer al oudh intense with nikos sculpture homme and you get pretty much althair for 40 bucks. Oajan is mainly about honey, you didnt mention this. I also love Layton but disagree with the seasons... this stuff is Christmas in a bottle, pretty sweet, dense and too much for the summer heat imho. I think Percival is underrated. Yes its a shower gel freshie with a bit spicynes and it reminds of A&F Fierce, but with a clearly niche level twist. Layton Exclusif on no.1 is okay for me. Really addictive, interesting and deep fragrance I just cant get enough of. I would have ranked Carlisle a bit higher. Real Masterpiece of an oriental scent and it just smells so elegant, expensive and timlessly seductive. One of very few male perfumes that knows how to use a rose note without leaning too much on the female side.

Layton is probably the most versatile if you only want to wear one fragrance, but Carlisle isn’t far behind and it’s better. I loved Layton when I first got it, but now I'm not sure why, but all I smell from it is menthol or dare I say it, Vicks Vapo Rub???!?? My bottle is only a year old, so I know it's not turned or gone bad. I definitely prefer Layton Exclusif! And in regards to Kalan, I can't quite wrap my head around it! I wore it one time to the gym and I had a bad experience with vertigo, so now the only time I can wear it is when I have nasal cold and I can't smell it! LOL! Cheers you guys!

The knock on Percival is, it’s basic for the price. Ur paying 200 bucks for a blue-ish fragrance, and it’s not really complex. I love it however, but most people when they spend that much money on a fragrance, they want it to have a ‘wow factor’ and that’s jus not existent in Percival

I hope you got another sample of Althair, from the way you describe it you might have landed a bad sample. Also I really don't understand the hype behind Layton, it's vicks rubbing stuff, and an imbalanced overdose of cardamom. I think you like the more designer styles of PDM vs. the niche ones, and that's OK.

My wife got me a bottle of Percival for Christmas, very similar to Vodka on the rocks by Killian. She absolutely loves it and i too think it’s a lovely fresh scent. Each to their own i suppose 🤔😐

Layton Exclusif and Layton are interchangeable 1 and 2 depending on the mood I'm in. Herod, Haltane, Sedley then Althair.

I have Haltane and althair .They are unique and long lasting. Haltane is fresh and complex. I just don't like layton. I don't know why.
