I figured this was a cap problem based on my problems with a 2008 LCD TV monitor...replaced those in 2017 and its still going strong in 2024

i have the same monitor. mine after a while will have a green fading shade on the whole left side of the screen. the lower front central part is unusually hot. sounds from jack is erratic, sometimes on sometimes gone. i love this monitor cause it has a 2d to 3d operation.

I have the Same Problem! But the capacitors didn't exploded, all i just did is remove all the parts then clean them or brush them lightly then put them together, and try if it works! (remember this method is temporarily not pure fix!) i just want to share with you! BTW My Monitor is NEC AS192M

a replacement screen is almost always more expensive than a really good used monitor and even a new one

I really appreciate video but it looks like I'll just be out a 2nd monitor after this one completely dies. Screen goes white off and on for the first 3-5ish minutes after booting up the PC but this solution is a big nope for me as I have no experience with capacitors.

this is not white screen failure. white screen failure is when your monitor goes white a few seconds after being switched on, everything progressively fades to white, and eventually, you see nothing.

Exactly...white screen problem is this exactly described here. And almost never is a capacitor problem. I am a technician. No matter the brand of the monitor. A white screen and then the screen goes blank and then standby is mainly because of the matrix board problem.the board on the LCD it self not the mainboard assuming that the Vlcd (5v or 12v) from lvds cable to the matrix board is ok. Check test points on matrix board and see if the appropriate voltages are present before the monitor goes to standby.. Careful not damaging the plastic ribbons to the LCD because this damage is not repairable

I was watching your video show how to repair the white screen but I have to say is not worth the hassle of repair it has I have this problem and not even bothered to repair it has bought a new one with same model from the first one I bought was £119 and now is £94 a same model

There's a reddit thread about people with AOC 27" monitors that do this, and of course I have a monitor that does this too. I would say AOC uses trash capacitors and it is a common enough problem.

Guys, just press the power button until it close by its self (5-10 seconds) when it turns off wait like 10nseconds and then turn it on.And it’s fixed

Yes you are right, this has happened to me several times. All I did, removed the cpu cord and then pressed the power button off on the monitor. Then wait for like 5 mins and then switched it on. It worked some 80 % of times, other times I removed and reconnected the power cable a few times. But everytime I see the white screen I feel the fear.

@@ehsanforghani8477 there are two cables in the monitor right? One is power cable, connected to switch, 2nd is cpu cable, remove the 2nd. And keep the power switch on now. Press the power button "on the monitor" off. Go have a coffee. Press the power button on the monitor on. The total white screen should now display monitor logo and a msg not connected to computer etc. Now connect the cpu cable. It has worked for me. I have a 12 year old monitor and it happens whenever i keep it off for months. Maybe some capacitors are discharged.

@@ajaykhatri8299 oh thanks, I think you mean the VGA cable. Unfortunately mine is even older. The problem is it works until I open a page with white background, then it turns off or works with many glitches. So as you suggested I'll have turn it on and off and avoid white pages.
