@@ScarredBert this character was apparently a huge power tripping dick the entire episode if most of the comments are anything to go by. there was slim chance he would willingly give it up outside of the cameras, especially with how it had to be "yanked" off (must have hurt... ALOT)

@@KupKate215 His excuse if charge would be along the lines of feeling embarrassment and public shame with camera and crowds around. He would have complied immediately with the request for the toupee had it been in private and handled with some form of respect given his position. Haven't watched the episode so not sure if he was stalling the investigation or had some reason why it was better for it to be done in public.

Not her fault, it’s just sad that something wasn’t worked out by the powers that be to keep Sharona on the show, she was nominated for a Golden Globe award (the actress...Bitty Schram... was so very good in ‘A League of Their Own’.). To me, it’s sad that she wasn’t valued enough by the producers to be given a bit of a pay raise.

This right here is why Sharona was the best assistant ever and how great a team she and Monk were. This scene, her saving Monk from that actress that framed her sister and tried to stab him in Mr. Monk goes to the theater, and Mr. Monk and The Asylum proved that Sharona was the Della Street to Monk's Perry Mason. There was nothing Della wouldn't do for Perry like how there was nothing Sharona wouldn't do for Adrian.

The show was usually accurate. But this one wasn't. Cut hair wouldn't contain DNA, only the roots do. And they said the same thing in a later episode.

There's more evidence than just DNA on a strand of hair. Each piece of hair is systematically dyed with a series of chemicals from the shampoos and conditioners we use, or don't, on a daily/weekly/etc basis. Combine hair color, personal care habits etc. and a strand of hair is covered in evidence every bit as damning as a fingerprint.

Most hair for wigs comes from India as they pay so little for it no one here would go to the trouble. It is bleached so before it is made into a wig it has no color or DNA. It is dyed so it is an exact match for the customers remaining hair.

The episode would work just as well if the culprit simply didn't KNOW that cut hair had no DNA. They spoke incorrectly, but it doesn't break the structure of the episode.

@@davincent98 : i remember watching the first episode of ‘Monk’ and hearing (Ted Levine’s) Captain Stottlemeyer’s voice and knowing that I had heard him in something else. It bugged me for days and then ‘Silence of the Lambs’ came on TV and I knew why it had sounded so familiar. He was excellent in that movie too (he scared the 💩 out of me in that role because he made that person seem so very real and so very creepy).

Why the hell did I deserve harassment from the moment I enrolled in school to my adult life. I have met many short men in my life (worked as a hospital maternity nurse) and some have a certain attitude that isn’t very healthy. My husband is 5’8” and is shorter than a lot of men (especially those in the military), yet as a HMC (Navy Chief) any lower rank person that tested him because of it.......well let’s just say that it was a BIG mistake. Back in those days, he could bench press 460 pounds and out last almost everyone ever who was with him ...... running in full gear in a Force March.

There's just one problem with this plot, just-just one. The wig couldn't have had the girl's DNA in it, because all the DNA you get from a hair sample is in the follicles. So, unless they waxed the girl's head, there's no way the wig could've had her DNA in it.

MAYBE he would have complied if there wasn't a camera on him, but that's not the point. At best, this means that his decision to catch a two-time cold-blooded killer hinged entirely on how good he would look in the process. Anyone like that shouldn't be in ANY position of authority.
