Mono Green vs Mono White, 7Pts Singleton MTG 93/94 | Old School Magic the Gathering | 605

Enjoy a match of 7 Points Singleton MtG 93/94 between a mono white artifact deck against a mono green big creature deck. The green singleton deck is piloted by Herfolk and contains some epic green creatures such as Craw Wurm and Force of Nature. My singleton deck is mono white and is build around the Argivian Archeologist. The plan is to play out my artifact contraptions, get crazy synergies going and if my opponent manages to break the chain, I have my Archeologist to get them back and start building again :-)

What are the 7pts Singleton rules?
Singleton means you can only play with one copy of each card with the exception of basic lands. It is also an old school magic the gathering format, meaning that you can only play with cards printed in 93/94 or with re-prints from that era with the same art. 7pts Singleton allows proxies. I felt like such an idiot looking back at it. I would’ve probably blocked with the 1/4 soldier and take 2dmg. Next turn I could block with the statue and use desert to kill it, but that would mean that later in the game the Hurricane would’ve been lethal 😱

@@TimmytheSorcerer It is awesome. Alot more cards are viable (fear the Island of wak-wak) and with the way the format works, its entirely possible to build a competitive deck for under a hundred bucks

Singleton is nice for cards you would never use. gives a lot of freedom to the imagination. but is Arena legal?

It's strange that some mox are worth 2 points while others are worth 3 points. Also very strange that LOA and mind twist are worth the same points as fireball and 3 of the mox.

It’s def interesting. I know that their list changes over time depending on how the meta evolves. I guess fireball is very powerful in this format? 🤷‍♂️

Yup, this is all based on experience with the format. Basically, moxes get very little play - despite the fact that everyone is allowed to proxy them. They're simply not as strong in a slower format. The better moxes that see more play are a point more than the ones that get almost none. In the same way, the X cost damage spells are incredibly strong. In slow formats they frequently end games. Basically the points costs change over time based on matches but they're not necessarily what people from other formats would expect.

@@akwregg Interesting. The green, black, and white mox are 3 points and the blue and red mox are worth 2 points. I would have expected blue and red were the strongest and most used and thus more points than the others (especially blue).
