Circle of fifths minor key progression with a harpsichord and strings. Combine that with the modern and of-the-time elements of the piece and I agree it's definitely timeless.

She is really great at extremely smooth half-step movements. As the music landscape has gotten more and more pentatonic over the years, it's really hard to imagine your average modern pop singer being able to do the 1 - natural 7 motion in minor key at the end of a high descending line like that. Then again, nothing about this song is imaginable in modern music, so maybe I'm wasting my time thinking about this lol.

Yo recuerdo haber escuchado ese tema desde chico en un disco de éxitos Mtv del 2002 y casi toda la vida en vez en cuando me acordaba de principio a fin la rola, pero lo que más me acordaba son las pistas de violin, chello, del piano como si se escuchara muy estilo monasterio y claro que la voz también recordaba, y no recordaba de las otras pistas industriales que lo define el Trip hop, y bueno, cuando escuché ese tema por primera vez, sentía como si estuviera dentro de un lugar grande donde solo la banda tocaba esa canción exclusivamente de noche y con ambiente elegante como si se trata de un palacio de color café entre morado eso es lo que me recordaba esta rola, no se si ya lo he vivido en estar en un palacio con la canción en mi cabeza o lo habré imaginado.
