I'm happy you did this comparison. I just bought 2 Monolith 12's for less than 1 pb3000. Your comparison helped answer several questions. 1. How much better in real word performance is a 500w 12 vs a 800w 13? Seems close, I'm gathering 90% of the Pb3000's performance can be had with the monolith 12. With the SVS's extra power allowing for more output at the deeper bass frequencies. Probably in the 16-18hz range based on the measurements I've seen. 2. For $1400 dollars: 2 Monolith 12's or 1 pb3000? With 2 Monolith 12's you will achieve better room consistency and higher over all bass (db) than a single sub. And with the Pb3000 and Mono12 being quite close at all but the lowest of low frequencies, 2 Mono12's should better the single SVS, at every frequency, along with the other advantages of using multiple subs, especially in a larger room (24x14x7) 3. How much better is the next tier of subs; is it worth stepping up further? (800 vs 1400) Nope, just buy 2 Monolith 12s This was just my thoughts on why I went 2 Mono
@ThaVillaMan5 жыл бұрын
Your rationale is flawless. The mono is a seriously impressive sub, especially at that price. Congrats and enjoy them!

Hey ThaVillaman I love your channel . I have been seriously researching Monolith vs SVS. One common thing I found for the monolith is it doesn't ship with a manual. Just curious if you have read it. If you have please ignore the rest😉.The level knob needs to be set to THX reference level and then you need to run room calibration on your AVR. This should make a big difference in performance. Anyway I hope I'm not over stepping myself. Much success.
@ThaVillaMan5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yea I definitely did all that. My Denon has SW level matching, which gets the sub set to ~75dB for calibration. In my room that brought the sub to 0dB and like I said in the video I added +4 after the calibration was finished which brought it to 4dB. Thanks for the tip!

I have heard many subs and work with audio equipment, and on a personal opinion the svs is better at all levels.

Jim Cole why! I heard the pb 2000 great sub I just want to know which is better am svs fan but it’s hard to tell but it look like the other sub took it in hard hitting and sound level

peanut McPherson the svs pb2000 is an amazing sub between the ported and sealed the ported imo is better. Obviously their higher models are better but you can’t go wrong with the pb2000. That will still shake your bowl of ice cream to a milkshake

@@jimcole2648 I concurr, I have a pb2000 and am getting another one, more bang for the buck vs stepping up to a pb2000 or 4000.
