That was my favorite character. I thought that I could help the doctor bring and he would come back to us as himself. That cut scene. It was sad. Worse was when I realized that no matter what I choose he will always die or be my enemy.

Noontide was unironically my favorite faction ever in stalker. Such an interesting premise, with strong characters, and an interesting moral faction who want nothing other than to live. Wish Skif couldve cared more to save them man.

I experienced the same thing, didn't really realize it was a bug. Honestly it conveyed more emotion that way IMO.

Well, look at it this way : An important element of storytelling is the concept of the "tragic hero" also known as "Aristotelian hero". The greek philosopher Aristotle believed that an important element of a good told story is tragedy which evokes strong emotions in the audience and anchors the story in reality. Strider fits Aristotles description of a tragic hero pretty well. Everybody knows : Very bad things may happen to very good people just like to everyone else. Fate does not care who it strikes. The tragic hero usually is a very good person and has nothing but noble intentions, but he also has flaws which ultimately lead to his demise and the end of his way and his life, in ruin and tragedy.
