Be aware that there is no low temp protection built into those batteries. While it is safe to discharge them when they are below 32°f, charging the batteries when they are at 32° or below will permanently and fatally damage them.

I have a 100AH 24V Ampertime in my boat to run my 80lb thrust trolling motor. I have yet to run out of power in a whole day of fishing and trolling around the lake. I love this battery and when I get around to doing solar in my RV I will likely use these 12V 400AH batteries. Two of them would be perfect!

Hi Eric, that's a good start for your blue box off grid living. Just to give you some info from the UK, the power companies over here have been putting an electricity supply emergency supply code on our bills. It's a letter of the alphabet in a box on the bill. The letter relates to a time and date on the variable roto disconnection plan. The plan is on a government web site. Be prepared, power cuts are coming.

If you have the option to hook up to grid power for only a few hundred (or even 'only' a few thousand) bucks, please do so! Living off-grid is great, but there are times when it just doesn't work out, and being prepared by having a breaker you can flip to switch to metered grid power is going to save your ass if you ever need it.

I agree. Rather have it and not need it. But you first must have county permitted septic on land before they will allow you to get power. There is currently a 2 year waitlist on getting septic done... So, solar will have to go first.

I have their 300 ah plus. I wish I had two of these 400 ah ones so I could build an off grid solar power system for a window AC. But on disability that`ll never happen. The one I bought with inverter and charge controller was the most expensive thing I`ve ever bought besides my camper I live in. And it will still be a very long time before I can finish getting a proper solar system finished if ever.

These aren't bad packs but remember they don't have low temp charge protection so make sure your charge controller has low temp charge protection on it.
