Having lived in suburbia my whole life, at least around where I was as a teen, no one was ever like... outside. And the neighbors were generally ignorant of anything happening outside. So people just not noticing things seems like probably a commentary on that. Also, the uncanny valley animation of this movie is really really great for a movie made to be spooky, because it adds just that layer of unease and disgust.

This movie was what I watched in elementary and middle school around every halloween. I always remember everything from the movie, cause I've seen it so many times growing up. Somehow I never was freaked out from the movie, though every classmate I had was scared during this movie.
