"I might go once a day. You know, for food." Nailed it 🤣 Also, it's a shame you didn't linger on the cake and what it said. In the old writing of English, one loop in the O letter meant you were telling the truth, and two loops meant it was a lie. There was one loop in the word "welcome" and two in the word "home". Meaning that Coraline was certainly welcome, but she was definitely not home.

the other mother created a new world customized for whoever she’s trying to lure in (in this case, Coraline). as coraline slowly defeats the other mother, the other world starts to erase. also, the other father turns into a pumpkin lol

You might really like ParaNorman. It's made by the same studio and such an underrated movie in my opinion.

Excellent movie with Dakota Fanning, Terri Hatcher, Keith David, Ian Mcshane

I listen to the commentary last month and I never thought of it but Dakota fanning filmed this over 3 years. So she had to match her 10-year-old voice to her 7-year-old voice. That's a lot to ask of anybody let alone a young kid plus ask them to play this complicated character

I love this movie. I'm the only guy I know who does, but I love it. :) As for the cat bringing Wybie "dead things", I think actual cat owners can correct me, but a lot of cats have the habit of bringing dead or dying things to their owners with the idea that they expect the owner to "finish them off". I think it's what a cat would normally do with their kittens to teach them to hunt. Toadstool rings normally grow in nature, but the old myth is that you were supposed to avoid them because they represented pathways into the world of fae.

You have to watch this a second time, there are so many interesting plots and signs of what´s going to happen that you cannot see the first time. For example how the lightning in the beginning is the shape of the other mothers creepy hand. This movie is so well planned out it´s a real masterpiece and I´m so happy you reacted to it:) sending love to our precious Sean
