I just recently discovered it was possible to download a patch that translated all of the dialogue from Japanese to English in mhp3rd and so I have downloaded that and have been playing it through an emulator. I’m not that far in (about 10 hours) but it’s INCREDIBLE so far. I’m absolutely in love. It’s like a melding of the new and old styles and a surprising amount of things have been introduced in p3rd that I didn’t realize were staples of the series for so long. This is for sure without a doubt one of, if not the best, monster hunter game I have ever played.

Huh...I didn't really notice just how "live servicey" world is till I saw you tear into that part. I always considered world my favorite game in the series and after I finished soloing every monster including fatalis I was pretty much done. I am content with my progress and didn't need anymore. So you showing how hard the game tries to keep itself alive "forever" puts alot into perspective for me. Let's hope with rise fixing alot of that sticks. The game has slowly lost its appeal for me (it's still a solid 8/10) but I'm eager to go back to 4u or 3u as well as sunbreak and see which one is my real favorite now that I'm good enough to handle G rank in these games.

I dunno if you've already watched that 3 hour long video on Monster Hunter 2 by the time you read this, but I happen to notice it in my recommendation feed one day and I decided to watch it. I knew their were gonna be some stuff that I wouldn't agree with, but I figured I'd might as well hear the reasoning behind this guy's opinions. Low and behold, the amount of stuff I didn't agree with kept on piling up, most of it being summed up as "theirs a reason why these archaic designs have been ironed out as the monster hunter series progressed". Others just made me facepalm like his opinion on World's Story, Lunastra and Toasters theme song in Rise. Which while I'm talking about it, it basically doesn't scream "Emperor of Flame" like World's rendition of it, it's more like "Tribal Chieftain of Flame" than something regal and bombastic befitting an Emperor. I'd tell you more, but it’s been awhile since I saw that video and I had to rewatch it again just to refresh my memory so I can go into more detail about it.

Was hooked since mhf2 around 2007 (forgot if it was at release or shortly after) waiting in line at GameStop when I was little excited because the cover looked cool. Funny part is I had no clue has elements worked, what skills were, or what anything was besides longsword was cool and certain armors I wore because how they looked. Took forever to beat tigrex but eventually beat finished village. Wish I grew up around a more tech savvy family as I missed out only every game in between until I got world/iceborne when the iceborne expansion released. Was such a huge change for me. Went back and bought mhgu for switch to keep me content until rise release. Now I go back between mhgu and rise every week. So ready for sunbreak

So I majorly disagree with about 80% of the gripes leveled at monster hunter world while completely agreeing with the other 20%. And I say this as a veteran that's been playing since I was a young teenager in early 2000s starting out with freedom unite when I got a psp on my birthday. And I got it SPECIFICLY for monster hunter and never bought another game for it. And had a few THOUSAND hours in freedom unite on a single character. Same for monster hunter 3 I got the special edition with a pro controller just for monster hunter and it was worth every penny once again consuming fast swaths of my free time as well as allowing me to get my best friend into the franchise. he traded a 360 for the wii and my combo deal and never regretted it for a moment as he admitted he has never enjoyed a single.moment of any 360 gameplay of any game as much as he enjoyed every second of his first true mh experience. We loved the water combat. The town. Everything. It was purrrrfection. So with that being said here is my defence of some stuff I disagree with the statements about the world. First and foremost I remember playing older entries and quite often thinking "wow I hope one day they add all of these things that they DID add to monster hunter world. Like open maps and dense enviornments. Major verticality and more BUT not too much mobility....rise has way too much mobility and turns ur awesome hunter into a sorta slightly above generic ninja bleh.. I hope they make palicos ur assistance in the hunt so they can participate and level up directly (they added that before world but it wasn't as prevelant or perfected as it was in world). I hope they improve the move sets and make u be able to at least do mid air attacks etc etc" for these updates not to actually be fully added till like wat 2018 so more then 10 years later? My hind sigh 20/20 was OFF the charts 😂 The forest man. I love it. I love how dense and maze like it is. This one of ur points I disagree with the most. the forest rules and u can't change my opinion on that. Making a rathalos get swept away by a broken dam that was holding back a waterfall and falling along side him or even better slamming down in him mid air with a hammer and mountain him when we both fell all way down was incredible. To this day logging into that and coral high land maps on my classic PS4 still takes my breath away. Or maybe it's my PS4 sounding like a rocket trying to take off to make it to Mars but like the engine never shuts down. It's always firing off rocket fuel lmao. I also said "wow I wish u could shoot up a flare and let people drop in and out mid hunts" I'm not kidding. Btw I really did predict alot of this shit was gona be implemented with better hardware one day. The weapons are such a let down in world I don't want to talk about it I'm just happy.my.gun hammer revolver and some kind of cactus spiky plant hammer are still in there. Actually the world one is the best cuz itd a flower that makes the spikes come out as u charge em. World is a bit too easy but still my fav one in the series and if they would of brought back underwater I would of been too 😊 too happy 😁 but alas. Taking away any need for prep...u can even eat after starting the hunt was a huge mistake. Convinient but a mistake Taking away paint balls was a mistake however tracking through footprints and other stuff like claw marks is genious and make u feel like a hunter more and more I got more to say but im at work so just plz change ur opinion about the forest plz? Forest is the truth and every time I go there I somehow find new nooks and crannies and I love chasing the monsters down around there.
@arapaimagold80882 жыл бұрын
Well of course a forest should be dense and can make you lost your direction. I don't understand how people complaining about it. Players who played GTA never complained about how big the map for them.

Already watch them individually. I'm just here to say that I hope gen 6 is not the beginning of the end for MH. All the shit that Elden Ring got makes me scared for what could happen if MH keeps trying to appeal to the West... Literally the same happened with Alatreon and Fatalis in IB
@arapaimagold80882 жыл бұрын
Which West? More like Euro instead of US, since the one who requested Kaname is Capcom EU. And in the end of day, Kaname is the real owner of MH IP. And he can do whatever he want with it. just because a game has stats and or skills does NOT mean it is a rpg.. Role Playing Game.. if every single game that had character stats/skills would be rpg's we would only have rpg's pretty much.. monster hunter is not an rpg, you can't roleplay/play a role in it anywhere else than inside your head.. theres no dialogue options, no decisions to make that have any kind of impact on anything.. and no, I do not count a game like Division2 as an rpg either..

Have you played Wild Hearts?
@SuperRADLemon Жыл бұрын
Thanks. I have and I have a review out you can find on the channel. I don't know what you mean by inside your head. Every role you take up is inside your head. Being the character you play as in the elder scrolls is inside your head. The origins of the term come from statistics and tabletops. To be a role-playing game doesn't mean to make dialogue choices or choose a class. It's about assuming a role and generating progression, usually through grinding. And it's about making stuff up inside your head. MH is widely recognized as an action role-playing game because it meets the standards of what the wider audience considers an RPG. Yes, I have stated that it has carved it's own "hunting genre", but the genres roots come from action rpg's.
