@webbowser88346 ай бұрын
So interestingly, there are some very territorial herbavores in the real world that WILL chase you down. Hippos are known to have one of the highest human kill counts among animals because folks get too close to them and they can run shockingly fast both in and out of water to trample anyone that disturbs them. Rhinoceros are also infamous for charging anything and everything that crosses their path trying to gore them with their horns, as their poor eyesight makes it difficult for them to distinguish between friend or foe.

The funniest part about the hitboxes of old games is often times were too far extended outwards but not actually touching the monster so the safest place sometimes was just to be under their legs. Kinda counter intuitive the safest place from a lot of melee attacks was practically touching the monsters. For example whenever a rathian is trying to spin around to either hit you with its tail or face you while on the ground hugging its legs is the safest place. It also makes it very easy to be on the other ‘’side’’ of it again so it spins ineffectually again trying to face you. This also works for hip checks cuz you can just be on the opposite side the monster is hip checking in a snap. Unless it’s something small but those tend to be easier anyway.

Lagiacrus the existence of Athena’s ASS begs to differ Not that I would call it complicated really, just sometimes too restrictive. Certain skills just had a really low variety of armor pieces with a lot of points in that skill. And talismans were a huge deal for rounding out those extra points
@WH40KHero3 жыл бұрын
@@emblemblade9245 Restriction breeds creativity, doesnt it? The old System forces you to really think what skills you absolutely need on your set thus forcing specialisation instead of generalisation like in World or Rise, where you can simply slap ALL the skills on a single set of armor without problem. Which, in my opinion makes the game far more interesting as it restricts player character power, making it more about the individual skill with ones chosen weapon then anything else.

@lucastperez3 жыл бұрын
Even though I appreciate the humor, making armor sets before was way harder since you had to basically write the different combinations you could have, with slots and talismans considered, to actually trigger the skills. Now each piece individually gives a bunch of skills, so you can't even mess up.
@MH_VOID10 ай бұрын
That's what really got me into the series and the sole cause of thousands of hours for me. I considered myself the best mixed set maker in the world and would mentally create sets at school, having memorized the stats of pretty much every notable endgame armor piece in the game, mix-and-matching them in my head, then write them down in a notebook, and then actually make them when I got home. I took requests from randoms online, asking them what skills they want, what relevant charms they have, and making it. I made new characters so I could make LR and HR sets pursuant to the charms I had. The equipment skill system was absolutely fascinating for me. It was the best part of MH, and Crapcom removed it. I have less than 100 hours in world, since it's not there. I pre-ordered Rise, but haven't played it in almost 2 years. I don't intend to play the new MH game at all, assuming it doesn't have the skill system either.

@@danlorett2184 I mean, not really? You can meld loads and loads of talismans at once, which allows you far more chances at hitting jackpot than a lottery affords. I acknowledged that people like you don't like it. I don't mind it. It's better than World's deco system, as far as I'm concerned, and it's a much more productive grind than doing so for said decos. You can more or less hunt whatever you want while you grind, vs being limited to an extremely sparse, samey pool of monsters. Plus, the game is fairly easy. You don't need an even vaguely optimized build to feel powerful. Getting a BIS talisman just let's you enter an elite cadre of players who grinded enough for it. As you point out, the RNG is vastly more favorable to time commitment than sheer chance.
