This is my very first time fighting against Rey Dau in the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta. I wanted to hunt it without my Palico involved, so I put him on standby. Just a one on one. Sadly, as you read in the title, I did not succeed in the hunt. So... why is this video even being uploaded then? That's because it is the only standout part of my time playing the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta. All of my other highlight footage that I managed to get wasn't really... anything interesting or special to really share. Then again, I guess neither is this, but I still wanted to put something out.
My experience with Dual Blades is very little and I only really messed around with them in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (didn't use them in World and I never played Rise). At this portion of time in the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta, I had roughly about five hours or so total of actual Dual Blade experience, so I was still really green with the weapons, but it was the weapon I decided to stick with in my entire time playing the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta. At first, it seemed like a complicated weapon to wrap my head around, but once I got around the flow and order of approach, it felt a lot better. Though I still don't display any form of expert level play with it in this video.
Rey Dau was a lot slower in behavior than I was anticipating. Its attacks leave him open a lot for quite long periods of time, but if you get too greedy, Rey Dau definitely capitalizes on it. I was still playing it quite safe until I slowly started understanding the patterns and timings on his openings; not always going for its weaknesses often unless I felt like I could safely. Even then... I still failed.
