@@Dogasupreme It can be, and it's why I want to try maining Lance. But the problem is with Guardian Alpha is that it just makes the whole game entirely effortless and in a bad way, as well. If you have high defense and Rocksteady mantle and let's say you then use Dual Blades and tank as you demon flurry a monster in the face, that's really fun! If you just take zero damage and keep getting knocked around until you eventually kill the monster thats a lot less fun. Plus, it makes it feel like you accomplished a lot less.

@@Luffy-su1ho as a hardcore fan of the game, could not recommend it more. I guess it’s not AS intuitive as other action adventure games, but it feels really rewarding with how it teaches preparation and leveling. Learning a monsters moves, knowing where the different herbs are and figuring out weaknesses both biologically and environmentally really makes you feel immersed in the world. Plus it rewards good play like no one’s business. If you like ecology, animals, or an interesting combat game, go for it. I’d also recommend getting the DLC too, since the base game lacks some challenge. DLC gets really tough if you don’t pay attention and has some excellent fights in it.

The ENDLESS grind eventually just tired me out and made me feel like I wasn’t making any progress, made no better by the hordes of MH players telling me “thIS iS tHe REaL GamE” when I tried to ask why everything was taking so long. The games are great fun, but they have way too much to do and the grind is too tedious for me for me to feel like I’m actually DOING anything meaningful.

Especially in Iceborne, it’s like once you trump one big challenge, an even bigger one comes about and you’re right back at it trying to get better gear to beat whatever just crawled out of the abyss.

The lack of charged attacks killed me. And I don't ever use the Great sword. But my strategies often revolve around sleep weapons, so not hitting sleeping anjanath with a True Charged slash Level three was incredibly uncomfortable. I hope he's learning. And the rest of the video was good though.

Well, in the end, hitting uncharged TSC is a lot better than missing fully charged one or even worse: getting hit while charging. I swear, in Iceborne, I've been forced to use jumping wide slash way more than actual TSC just because the opportunities for TSC, charged or uncharged are few and far. The forward carrying jumping wide slash is great tool for getting out of punishment that MR monster no doubt is planning on your ass. Or maybe I recall wrong, I do remember smacking TSCs left and right back in HR

Again, I use sleep weapons and an armour set designed to maximize sleep damage, so I get a nice break every five minutes to recover and hit in with Barrel bombs and the likes (I use the Long Sword). I don't get many people helping me, but I would love to have someone with a great sword for when I run out of bombs.

@@Gebunator The reason for the borderline impossibility of ever landing a TCS on a not-sleeping monster is because all monsters in Iceborne MR, even the ones from LR and HR, get MUCH more aggressive, twitchy in their movements, and more or less have no chill. You are 100% remembering correctly landing TCS in HR; the monsters themselves just ingest a pound of crack rocks to now attack literally every second that they aren't roaring.

However, MR monsters don't seem to have that much HP increase compared to damage you can dish out in compensation. That and since you can drive them to walls and do the grapple attack for some serious attacks, the TSC moments are extra super special!
