This episode actually saddened me. As always, it sounds super immersive, but that's why it is so saddening to hear that these creatures, exactly as smart or even smarter than our species, have to be killed for us to be safe... it's killing people because we can't easily coexist, and that's just... well, time to remember this is a bloody video game. Plus, on the good side, that attack they make at the same time, it was beautiful!

Strawfoot I'm far from saying that MH isn't a great game to play (certainly looks fun and I'm also the type to gleefully go on a slaugthering rampage) with a really great lore behind it, but when they bring up some of these creatures can very well be people even if they're far from humanoid, I'm just the type who'd want to drop the H from the title. And you're welcome, dear. The more a channel grows the harder it is to get a hold of the host, so I'm happy if this pleases you some ^^ Btw, if they ever show an elder dragon mourning the dead of another or otherwise displaying a range of emotions as rich as our own, I'm fucking crying.

If they are as intelligent as humans then it is no different then when humans attack other humans. The monsters started it so the hunters must it end or both sides could be killed. Plus some monster are a danger to the ecosystem like the Deviljho.

Saphiria TheBlueDragonKnight The way I got it from the war video, Wyverians or however you spell that were the first to rise to power on this planet, then they started to kill monsters to the point Elder Dragons rallied the other monsters against them and our species sided with the Wyverians. So it'd be their fault. But even so, whoever started doesn't really matter to me, it's that we could very well attempt to end it! But I digress, I only get so easily moved and get to think of peace so easily because this is fiction; whatever the writers say is reality. On the Jho problem, I really don't know. As far as I know that one really is no better than a non-human-level-of-thought animal so, it's excusable

In the past it was a part of Monster Hunter Lore that there were Elder Dragons that spoke a language called simply... Dragon. In Monster Hunter Lore, an ancient order of people called Monster Riders spoke this language, and it is believed that Elder Dragons still speak the language Dragon. The language Dragon is why the Elder Dragons so easily united and destroyed the First Wyverian Empire. Teostra and Lunastra likely speak that language, like all true Elder Dragons.

I like how you present your hunts as not just hunts, but as stories. Not a lot of extrapolation of what we see a monster do and what it means but a distinct feeling of a "One man, his palico, a camera and *insert the Disney singing here if you wish* a whole new world... a new fantastic point of- okay I'll stop" kind of show..... I wish this were an actual animated series, a hunter sets out by the guild to complete missions and learns about the new world, and in the process learns new things, some exciting and wonderful, some as sombre and sad as this video. The 3rd gen games had a really strong theme of coexisting with a large and colorful ecosystem, and if I recall the lore correctly, Moga village had relatively little interaction with the guild, glad to see at least some hints of that aesthetic coming back in World.

Strawfoot Even though we may have to kill some of these majestic beasts that stray too close to Astera, at least they go out the way they deserve, in honorable fights of grace and technique between them and the Hunters, instead of the brutal and unrelenting attacks of Nergigante. I think that most Elder Dragons just enjoy the thrill of battle, considering that both Teo and Luna will enage in fights with Kushala Daora, and then leave as soon as it's finished instead of continuing to attack.

Do you have an explanation why Luna suddenly became more powerfull than Teo? In the new World shes a little bit stronger while in the old World Teostra was stronger.

I haven't found any story explanations as to why this would be so. I do have a theory though. I think that Lunastra may have been eating the crystalized bio energy created xeno-jiva and zorah magdaros in the elder's recess. Having access to this new diet may have amplified her powers. Of course that still leaves the question as to why Teo isn't doing this. Do you have any theories on this? It's a great question, so thanks for asking King of Flames.

yeah, lots of people got the kill 50 tempered elders achievement for regular luna. and even the community manager for Capcom noticed tempered luna does the same damage as regular.

Maybe she’s more aggressive because she’s protecting her mate? Remember, in her questline, the Teostra she’s travelling with is injured. Edit: Or because there’s a bug that makes her tempered even in normal quests

I wish it was easier to translate the MH world into a Dungeons and Dragons format. I'd love to be part of a group of hunters who regularly offer up gifts of gunpowder as a sign of peace to the pair of elders. They already know settlements can be great sources of it, but maybe through attempted balance with nature we can strike up a tenuous relationship with even our most feared enemies. Also, I just love these videos, you give such character to every bit of this world with so few words. Keep doing what you love because we love it too!

Just listened through my headphones. Audio sounds perfectly fine. Very good, in fact. I can see why complaints when listening in surround sound would seem to come from out-of-the-blue to any ordinary subscriber. Surround sound listeners/watchers need to donate some serious cash $$$ to this channel and then they can be aurally enlightened from all directions as Strawfoot could afford to test levels in Dolby.

Strawfoot Well for one I would get footage with no HUD. You would have to do some transitions to some shots where you show off the land, etc. If you want I can do a video just to give you an example.

It was a mixed set, the chest and waist are brigade, the arms and legs are Dante.

To this day, I still fail to see how Kirin is classified as an Elder Dragon. It's a friggin lightning unicorn! Please, someone explain this headache of lore.

Reap3r of Souls Well, it's kinda weird how Kirin uses its lightning attacks. It's not like Tobi or Zinogre, who generate energy through static and thunderbugs. Kirin also drops elder blood and elder bones, meaning biologically it is an elder dragon.

I heard reports of a strange monster in the Old World. Perhaps you could research it? It's an Elder Dragon known only as Nakarkos, a hellish monstrosity that feasts on everything in sight. I don't know much, but I do know this: it's a two-headed Dragon covered in bones.

Can you do lore on Loc Lac City? Supposedly lore wise when the servers for Tri were taken down, the city was both attacked by a Deviljho and smashed by Jhen Mohran, but I can't find any sources for lore on Loc Lac city

Same goes to the elder dragons before portable 3rd only alatreon made it since it was so powerful only few hunts it. Others were already weakened and forced to hide in undiscovered places which is now the new map of MHW.
