LS, CB, both Lances and IG are what's making me ABSOLUTELY hyped for this style now. Brave CB fixes every problem I had with non-guild style CB, IG is non-stop aggression, just the way I like it (and I need that gorgeous IG that was shown in the video. if anyone knows what kind of IG this is, please tell me) and the Lance allows me to stick close to the monster. Also, that shield bash combo will feel badass. Speaking of badass, my favourite boomstick, the GL, is getting more firepower in brave mode thanks to the rapid shelling technique and a guard point... I'm about to drool. As for LS: That wonderful counter-attack is making me so happy. It looks glorious. Also: More mobility for LBG and HBG? Woohoo, sold ♪

I think the weapons that got me the most excited for brave style are Hunting Horn and HBG. I loved hunting horn since I tried using one for the first time, I love playing support, and now I can play an agressive support and brave style seems to push that to the extreme. As for HBG, the sheer potential of how many bullets can be fired while staying on the move makes it even more appealing than adept HBG was to me. Gunlance, Switch axe and SnS look pretty sick too. And overall I think that until I try my hands on em, I'm gonna stick to the same style for adept DB, adept lance or aerial IG. They all looked great but I already have a great experience with those in their respective style that I can't see myself switching over easily, but I will give it a chance before calling my shots.

Like Gaijin, I think you are focusing a little too much on the essence part of Brave IG. If you can get it normally or you've basically buffed yourself up with extract early on then the kinsect attacking along with you is basically free extra damage on top of your own. Kinda like Mega Kangaskhan with Parental Bond lol

I just noticed that for CB, being in Brave mode enables you to use Ultra Burst without exhausting your shield charge. Depending on the Ultra's MV, it might be back to being usable again.

My favorite weapons in Brave style are definitely Great Sword, Hunting Horn, and Hammer. They all are for super-aggressive runs and are made even better in this style, which gives them all unique abilities. I think I may just take up the Hammer alongside the Hunting Horn should XX come to the west.

I can't wait to play with all weapons with brave style, especially GS, LS, HBG, and SA. I can use all weapons effectively but this make me want to relearn the weapons and try them in Brave mode. It seems like a mix between Guild and Adept but with many new moves with the extent that is much less forgiving if you mess up.

It feels like they're essentially making Adept obsolete with this. Everyone gets a hop/evasion of some sort, and a damage buff for being aggressive. Basically Adept which was also based around this concept of aggressive play. I wouldn't be surprised if they tweaked Adept to be a little more unique compared to this new style.

I probably won't be using brave that much because I have the worst luck with timed buffs. I'll activate something, then the monster will either immediately go to another area, start running around the map like crazy so I have to chase it down ten times, or go into super rage and not leave a single opening for me to attack.

You press Y to enter the stance and from there you can dodge with B or press X to attack. Landing attacks fills the Brave guage allowing you to enter brave mode when is full.

Ulti? do you mean that useless super ultra charge?? What troubles me is the total number of stun we can get in a batlle. In a short fight (high rank, averagely 3 mins of hunting, 1 monster with low resistance to KO), usually i can stun 2 times with CB and Hammer. Then the monster dies. It makes me question one of the main strong points of blunt weapons : KO. If we can stun and cut tail with CB, then why use Hammer? Of course i know that hammer can give more KO damage consistently, as well as massive damage output at that, but CB can do these too. Just need more prediction and accuracy.

Well, imo, the ulti charge is useless because it deals the same KO damage with the lesser one, or should i call the super charge. 5 phials means 3 phials damage for the ulti, then we need to recharge the red shield. The lesser one, 1 phial means 3 phials damage as well. The spinning attack one gives 2 phials iirc (cmiiw). And really, it's better to go with the lesser one (the super charge) and do AX combo rather than go with the ulti one. 10 means 6 phials, then need to recharge. For 10 phials especially, that art charging time is way to long. The monster die first before the art charged fully. Raw damage wise, the ulti charge has more 25 MVs. But lets take the charge time to be calculated as well. That 25 more MVs isn't worth to let the red shield off. So taking all of those into account, i come to the conclusion that ulti charge is useless. Except maybe for flashy finisher move. Edit : and ulti charge is useful with the add-more-phials art of course, but that kind of playstyle takes more time to end the hunt.

Grant Barron probably not too late for this... you don't really need another Beginner's guide. Projared already made some for 3U, and they cover general MH basics - as in stuff that does not change from game to game. check that out. Also, don't be a dummy like so many others, and read NPC text. you actually gets hints that way, as well as looking up monsters in your Hunter's Info section of the menu. You can also learn weapon basics in-game by selecting the weapon basics quests (available from the start, HR1). Last but not least, Arrekz has weapon/style tutorials to show you the combinations in practice, and discuss differences in style. There's too much to take in at once, so start with Projared's 3U tutorial... DON'T be the dickhead who lets everyone else do the work for you, and end up HR6 with no armor skills, a stupid talisman, and armor pieces that make no sense simply for raw defense.
