Is there any way to convert the old friction style machines to a posi-pin setup?

Only if it is a Sailrite sewing machine. If it is email us at info@sailrite.com and we will email you a detailed quote for the parts for your Sailrite sewing machine conversion.

@@SailriteDIY It is a Thompson PW-301. I thought the Thompson was almost identical to the LS-1?

@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 Oh, sorry the Posi-Pin system cannot be purchased for a none Sailrite sewing machine.

What difference will a bigger/heavier balance Wheel make? I'm guessing it will get extra power from the momentum and run smoother but it should also be harder to start rotating. Sometimes I have to sew around tricky places and sew slowly and maybe just a couple of stitches at a time, won't this make that harder?

From what I've heard there is more than enough power to get it started and actually makes slow starting smoother as well and easier to maintain a slow speed. My own machine has the old-style wheel and it's a bitch to go slowly. It wants to lurch ahead at full speed with just the smallest pressure on the pedal. I am thinking about getting this or the plastic version at the very least.

Will this work on a old singer 188k1 sewing machine? i dont care about retaining the bobbin winder function.
