Another incredible monster Monday and yet again another monster I love in your style. PS I can't wait tell you do gnolls as one of my favorite monsters and the main monsters in my campaign right now. At any rate can't wait tell next week
@ArcaneForge6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, Zach! Your compliments have already made my day. I'm super looking forward to gnolls as well. I think that they're 5th or 6th in line? Something like that? They can't come fast enough! Cheers for watching!

Brilliant content as always, love the little details in this one. The rowboat shoulder guard, the bone jaw on the helmet, especially all the small weapons along the belt. It just makes this creature have life to it, like it tells a story without words.
@ArcaneForge6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, Andrew! I always love to make creatures look like they've had a life before we meet them, and add a bit of personality to them. I'm really glad that you can pick out those details too. Thanks so much for your compliments and for watching my stuff!

If I set up a campaign with a giant and it kills a party member, I'll have it reenact that glitch from Skyrim. "You turn to face the giant, just in time to see it hurl your nearly dead companion up into the air, his limp body slowly fades from view as it ascends into the sky."

100% yes! I love this so much!

That's such good timing! I felt a disturbance in the D&D forces and I answered them, haha! Hope your campaign goes really well! Cheers for watching.

Congrats on 4k from me as well. I went rolling through my 5th edition monster manual and saw a distinct lack of Celestial creatures, so I'd like to request the Solar, Planetar, or Unicorn.

From what I understand they’re going to be adding a ton of extraplanar creatures in Mordenkeinen’s Tomb Of Being Stupid Neutral.

Thanks so much, ImThe1stCoolest! I'm with you, I think some more celestials need to make it on to the list, so I'll add your suggestions! Thanks again for watching!

This picture turned out a lot more colorful than i anticipated, its certainly a nice change from a lot of the more brown and earthy colors many artists use when drawing armored characters^^ You also did an amazing job with designing the armor itself! i love all the small, human sized object you put on it and the boat shoulder pad and the ice swords are really cool ideas as well (no pun intended ;'P) I would like to suggest a Peryton for Monster Monday! I absolutely love how they look in the Monster Manual and they have super interesting lore as well!
@ArcaneForge6 жыл бұрын
Hey, PPG-Shadeshifter! Thanks so much! I always love to make things a little more colourful. There are a lot of artists keeping things grim and dark, which is great, but I just see way too much of it for my tastes. I'm really glad that you noticed the little collections all of the place. I like to imagine that she's had a whole life before we met her! Thanks for your suggestion as well by the way. I'll definitely add it to the list! Cheers for watching!

I've never actually had the pleasure of using one of these yet I get the feeling if I did I would have the entire species being a fragmented shards of a god and if kill one you can take the physical Shard of said god and use it for crafting or you could try to resurrect the thing if you got enough of them together just a couple of ideas
@ArcaneForge6 жыл бұрын

Arcane Forge i don't know was it ever brought to you, but i really respect time you put in interacting with people in comments and it is one of things that i miss when creator becomes huge on youtube, even though i tottaly understand impossibility of answering every comment when you get to a position when thousands of people write down random nonsense in comment section :)
@ArcaneForge6 жыл бұрын
That's really sweet, taigerus, Thank you so much. I really love seeing what people think about the videos I make. It's really lovely to see such a wonderfully supportive comment section as well. I'd initially feared how cruel people would be when I first started making content but everyone's surprised me with their kindness. It's only fair that I repay that by being here when I can! That said, the "top 5 worst DMs" video has taken on a life of it's own, and I tend not to respond to comments on that one because I can't keep up with them. But I'll always try and get back to people who take the time to write to me otherwise! Thanks so much for appreciating that! I'm really glad to have you and everyone else who enjoys this stuff!

will say the jotun in norse myth were typically treated more neutrally and as a people with a broad morality, much like the gods or mankind. many gods, including Odin and Freyr, married or had famous love affairs with giants or giantesses. Loki is almost certainly a jotun, which may not be a ringing endorsement, but also Thor would be, if we followed geneology, three quarters jotun, odin being most likely half jotun, and thor's mother being jotun. and also some beings worshipped as gods were in fact jotun, Skadi the goddess of skiing, was entirely jotun. Aegir is a jotun worshipped as a sea god. the norse gods, at least the aesir, not so much the vanir, aren't really all that distinguished as a different type of being than jotuns. there were differences, but they wound up being more in culture and values, than in origins. there's far more nuance and subtlty associated with norse giants, as the term giant doesn't really apply to them, since not all of themare even notably large in size, and not all of them are even humanoid. it's quite interesting.
