The fried food is a reference to The Fly. Those are teleportation pods in the background and the "funny" part is that it's frying people. And the Grim Reaper was originally a xenomorph (alien).

4:07 This is very interesting as it was hard to tell what this boss was originally. At first, it looked like a giant spider or crab, partly due to the color and body shape, and partly due to the fact that its head is not immediately visible from the side. 8:20 Looking back, it also made little sense to me as to why the mummy reference couldn't be used as mummies and Egyptology were, and still are public domain. Unless he was a reference to a specific character, it made little sense to change him. Medusa likewise was public domain, making her change equally odd.

I like to think Mark is actually an inspiration for Ness, he uses a bat. Isn't scared of anything, doesn't talk much. Only screams when his skin is being ripped apart. And it would make sense because Mother 1 released on 1989 same year than MOTHER in japan, so it makes sense the guys making Mother 2 played monster party and said "damn, this shit is the tits" that would explain why mother 2 also ramped up the weirdness big time EDIT: IT'D ALSO EXPLAIN WHY NESS CAN REFLECT PROJECTILES WITH HIS FORWARD SMASH EVER SINCE MASH BROS 64

I'd love to see a version of this with the same art department and writer, but a game designer who knew what the hell they were doing. The game is very cool, but the level planning and boss gameplay is just kinda ass.

They just do it and hope for the best. Reminds me of when John Carmack of Id developed a PC port of Mario Bros 3 before showing it to Nintendo. They told him no, but encouraged him to make his own games because of how impressive the port actually was.

I was surprised by your harsh reaction. I was only trying to point out that the voice from the old computer software makes "Butler" difficult to understand. Voices from outdated software, with their irregular sound patterns, can strain the ears and be uncomfortable due to their unnatural frequencies and auditory artifacts. It’s disheartening to be met with such a strong response when I a providing helpful feedback.
