Rick has proven the adage I use any time someone misses by such a narrow margin that it's unbelievable. "Well, you can't do much more than that." It sounds played out and defeatist, but it's true. Sometimes, you just literally cannot do anything more than what you've done, especially with putting. So relax, it was a great putt, even if it slammed the hole and skipped out ;)

Big fun, just a tad unlucky! Alas, I'd have to object to the naming. The "monster putt" has occurred in St. Andrews, in private play on one of the traditional courses. About 2007, I read in their official online "blog"(sp?) that, in a gale, a local player hit putter from the tee of a Par 3, only to produce a HIO of 300+ feet!

Awesome that Rick is getting this type of recognition for being a top golf content creator. Golf broadcasters need to get rid of the boring, geriatric announcers and start involving people like Rick in their casting. No more cranky "golf was better back when you used long irons for your second shot on a par 4," grumbling. Please. Just modernize the telecasting.

Great stuff. I went to Uni here. Played my best round on the Jubilee course using 3 wood instead of driver. Would be great to see you do a comparison of 18 holes driver vs no driver in bag. Drivers these days are too long shafted for the average player and modern 3 woods are similar length to drivers of old. Low scoring opportunities happen within 150 yds of the pin.
