Great video. Mr. Jeff i believe you're gonna have to go turbine to get your need for speed. 🤣🤣 Also want to add, that was a very smooth flight. It's nice for a change to see 3d without chaos.

Thank you! I appreciate it! Hmm!!! That might happen! Stay tuned for Fridays video!! I enjoy more smooth 3D and not smack.

Looks like an Excellent conversion! Your flying is as smooth as silk. Even going from insane head speed, back into the lower RPM's if I turned the volume down, the flying was so smooth, it didn't look like you changed the head speed at all. Great flying as always. I finally got my channel going, and have 2 videos up. I don't know what I'm doing yet, as I just bought a DJI OSMO Action 4, charged the battery, and went to the field. But, it's a start.

Thank you! I greatly appreciate it! I wasn’t even pushing the helicopter in this video, since it was its maiden flight! Wanted to make sure everything works like it should lol I’m glad you’re getting your channel going! I’ll have to check it out!

Nice Jeff, I too prefer the less manic 3D flying. Very smooth

Nice flight, high head speed is crazy. You ever have issues with lipos in the cold? It doesn’t get much over 40 degrees here on warm days and I think my batteries are unhappy when I go out.
@westhobbiesrc805111 ай бұрын
Thank you! It’s a awesome insane heli! Yes, when it gets cold lipos are not happy lol I found if you warm them up before flying they are just fine. If it’s really cold I’ll use a heat gun on low and just get them to 70 degrees and they are just fine.

@@westhobbiesrc8051 Tks man, good to know. I’ll come up with something. I was thinking about keeping them under my belt against my skin but my better judgment is thinking not a good idea.

Jeff, is this conversion basically what the new 420 Competition model is? Thank you!
@westhobbiesrc80517 ай бұрын
Yes it is! This conversion is exactly what the new 420 comp is. I’ll be building a 420 comp as well.
@jp414511 ай бұрын
This Conversion is SICK!! Sounds absolutely terrifying in Stunt2! But isn't there a boundry where you have to be carefull with the Mainblades because of the high collectivepitch and RPM ?
@westhobbiesrc805111 ай бұрын
It is! Tons of power and doesn’t stop! Just keeps pulling! Yes there is a point where too much RPM will tear blade’s apart. It’s a lot higher than this! I’ve gone as high as 5,000 RPM on 380/420 blades, but anytime you go over manufactures recommended RPM you run the risk of blades exploding.

HI, what pinion you used for this motor? conversion kit comes with a 21 thanks

Hello! I used the stock 21t pulley. Works great!

Excellent flying nice and smooth,man that thing has some power,great job sir,I have the blade fusion 480,what is the biggest motor I can use sir?would be greatly appreciated sir,thank you sir.
@westhobbiesrc805111 ай бұрын
Thank you! I greatly appreciate it! I don’t remember the exact size of that motor. But I believe it’s around a 4025? If you want more power look into a Xnova 4025, 1100 KV. That will definitely produce more power than the stock blade motor if it will fit. You’ll have to do some measuring.
@dandorris853111 ай бұрын
WOWZER, so that's a direct drive to a belt? Bigger motor physical size is the reason for the belt conversion then?
@westhobbiesrc805111 ай бұрын
Yes it is! DD 420 converted to a regular motor with a belt drive. The main reason for the conversion is more power and weight savings. Pick up a lot of torque, especially at the high head speeds.
@dannyrc201010 ай бұрын
So nice can you tell me please what main rotor ratio number you use on ?
@Lance57H6 ай бұрын
Do you recall what you set the gear ratio to in the Vbar with this setup? From what I can find it's 5.700 is this correct?

Make more sense to get the RAW 500?
@westhobbiesrc805111 ай бұрын
Depending on what you want yes. This was built for fun and see what kinda power it made. But if you were going to do this setup not for fun and playing with then yes. RAW 500.

Hello Jeff, Which has more low end torque, DD or the conversion? 🧙♂👍
@westhobbiesrc805111 ай бұрын
Definitely this setup. I flew my regular DD 420 today and this one has a better power band all the way around.
