@ultra_phantomaj83009 ай бұрын
That would seem to be a trend in general. Ever since Bambu, more manufacturers have been making Core XY's, and it's only a matter of time before they all start integrating Klipper in some way.
@ScytheNoire9 ай бұрын
@@ultra_phantomaj8300 Bambu just used what open source printers like RatRig and Voron had been doing for a while. Bambu just made it closed off and an appliance rather than a hobby in itself.

It's not core xy, you can see the x stepper moving on the y rail. My understanding is that core xy only scales to a point.
@BryanBalak9 ай бұрын
Let's just call it "non bed slinger" designs. Printers like this are easily enclosed, and their footprint isn't variable on the workbench. I like my 3 and 4 Plus printers, but so tired of dealing with adhesion issues due to bed movement and temperature variations.
@ScytheNoire9 ай бұрын
@@eslmatt811 Correct. There is a motor on the X axis gantry controlling it's movement. At that size, I'm not sure belts would have worked in a typical CoreXY configuration. This might be a use case where moving away from belts completely. Magnetic levitation linear motor system might be a great use case for these extremely large printers.
@Berbelucha9 ай бұрын

Does the giga have an induction probe? If so I’ve found with my n3plus that when the bed is hot the induction probe will give you very different results everytime it probes. In your klipper printer config you can set the probe tolerance, number of times it probes a point and number of retries the probe will probe a point if results are more than the tolerance value set, this may help a little

@Uncle Jessy - The power cord is a standard IEC power cable (can't recall the style number off of the top of my head at the moment) but one can easily buy the plug from a local electrical supply store (off-the-shelf component). That plug is required due to the higher input current requirements that the printer needs (power cord is probably on a 14 gauge wire setup... looks that way to me). How much does the printer weigh??? Looks totally awesome otherwise. :)

Would it be possible to rewire the filament run-out sensor wires to the front of the printer? From what I see, it shouldn't have an impact on the hardware to move it to the front
@arnoldbailey75509 ай бұрын
You may want to scrap the motherboard and install a Duet motherboard. With the expense of filament with such large prints, the quality of the motherboard will definitely matter. If your calibration sensor is infrared, the shiny surface of the build plate will mess with your calibration measurements. If it is a pressure sensor, then the plate may be too thin and cause surface changes due to uneven heating or flex during calibration. Hope this helps. May want to try a BL touch sensor to see if your measurements are consistent.

The same bed leveling issue happens to the Neptune 4 series. I would strongly advised to avoid it since it cost so much and leveling the bed with a probe is the BASIC skill a printer needs to have. Or purchase a different probe for it. Also, purchase a USB extension cord to position it by the pad instead of the bottom. The filament. I would set something up that is mounted to the wall and goes out towards the middle of the printer instead of using the back of the printer. Or relocate to the front instead.
