Your albo is particularly beautiful. It has the perfect amount and dispersement of variegation. I definitely prefer marbled variegation over sectorial. Marbled plants just seem to be healthier, grow faster and have less browning. Such a beautiful specimen.

Awww thank you 🙏 💚🌿 yeah definately agree with you, it is generally healthier for the plant too, it can photosynthesise so much better

I don't think I agree that water is the safest bet for propagation. I think perlite is much safer, especially if you won't be around to watch it. Anyway, everyone has their preferences.

It took me forever to take the plunge on this beauty. I tried a wet stick last year. Wrung my hands as it turned brown. I just found an Etsy store and bought a 3 leaf “rescue.” She’s doing great on a pebble tray on a heat mat in a humidity cabinet. I’m a little extra.

I totally agree with the info on the browning of leaves. I only ever had that happen when watering too much/too frequently (mostly right where the guttation occurs).

Just found you and I have to say I'm an instant fan! I stumbled across you while looking around for information on Philodendron white princesses, my first 'rare' plant (wish me luck, going to try not to kill my cutting!) which is as close to a Monstera tai constellation I can get without breaking the bank! Love seeing your Albos!

I love that you root things in Pon. I love Pon and use it for everything even growing my veggies seeds. I especially love that I don’t have to transfer anything when I use it to root for my indoor plants. The nervous laugh when talking about killing them is spot on except I would add a little cry to mine (RIP to the nodes I killed). Great video, keep up the awesome work!

yeah same here i found it works really well to root things in. Interesting what you say about Veggie seeds, sowing loads now in preparation for warmer weather and i hadnt even considered it. Sooooooooo going to give it a try too. yeah the node death is real sometime with albo wet sticks 😭😭😭😭 thanks glad you are enjoying 😊

I can second that. I use Pon a lot. Even to root and grow my alocasia corms and I have never had that much of a success rate, let alone the speed of either rooting and/or first growth. I out them in small plastic cup with holes, let them sit in a plastic box with a lid on sitting in a few cm of water and BANG :) Everyone was telling me that this was the worst to do (fertilizer already being in there) but I can only say it works a treat for me.

I don’t have an albo. I have a regular deliciosa and a baby Thai constellation. I don’t know why I haven’t been bitten by the albo bug since I like white variegation. I wouldn’t turn one down for the right price, but it’s not something I’m actively on the hunt for. That said, yours are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.

Love the video!!! Learned so much! Ahhhhh thrips!!! I received my first albo node this past December. It did so well pushing out a leaf and some roots. And then… one day… I noticed the little thrips buggers!! I’ve never had thrips!!! I reached out to the seller and he said “it couldn’t be from my albo I don’t have any thrips” 😅 yeah right!!!! Anyways… thanks to YOUR advice I quickly treated and continue to stay vigilant and I think she may be ok 👍 It has been a learning experience. Your albo is just beautiful 😀

In 2023 in Canada, a mid leaf cutting with an aerial will cost you $100+. The Thai Con however is half the price of last year 🤔 I’ve had no grief or pests from my Monstera Albo so far 🤞 My Thai Con has also been problem free, I get the feeling I’m lucky 😀🇨🇦

I love your attitude about those expensive plants we take the plunge and buy. The trial and error is stressful but it's worth knowledge you gain! So gratifying. Is definitely not funny while you're in it but when you're in the clear it's like whew😅🤣.

Watch the Sydney plant guy. If you used a moss pole like him you could get the air roots to turn to water roots witch will of course help it grow faster of course with enough light as well. Then he keeps huge plants still in smaller pots.

Thank you. This was very helpful, especially about the watering. I let mine go dry too but I was not sure if that was correct. The latest leaf, the fourth one, came out perfectly so I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing.

I am waiting for my nodes and I can not wait for my adventures with Albo. Thank you for this video! 🙌😍🥰 I am nervous but you give me the confidence and I also think the only way to learn is jump right in and experiment. I saw the chance on having some nodes and I took it. Waiting impatiently for them to arrive. 😅

I have had mine for 8 months. I got a top cutting. It rooted well in spagnum directly under a grow light with plastic wrap on top of the pot to create humidity. It is a slow grower for me but that is to be expected due to the varagation. I got browning on some of my white varagation the one time I watered too soon plus's it was root bound. ( I'm not sure if that was a cause) I keep mine under a grow light and it is working on roots like crazy. I have mine in a very chunky mix ( orchid mix small and large, worm castings, perlite, and a tiny bit of soil) in a clear orchid pot. I water when it is mostly dry witch is easy to tell because of the clear pot. I absolutely love mine and I'm hopeful that I will get new leaves this summer🤞🏻😊

I managed to get my hands on an unrooted cutting last August bank holiday at a reasonable price. It’s a lovely half moon cutting, took about a month or so to root in water, then I transferred to pon and I now have a second half moon leaf though it’s about a quarter the size of the original. Hoping it will grow up into a beautiful monstera but still early days….. I agree it is quite slow but certainly worth waiting for

Thank you for another wonderful video! I have been trying to root a cutting that I got at the end of Dec 21, the aerial root broke off but I did have a lil "bump" so I thought maybe it would do something, BUT here I am March 1, 22 and it looks the same 😭 so I've not had a great time with it. Hey Jim, I don't know which part of Canada you're in, but here in Québec, I can get a rooted Thai Constellation baby for under $200 from an importer who resells (and she has many). But I can't find an albo with good variegation for less than $400-$500 at the moment, so I've pretty much given up on it and will try to trade for one when my other plants are big enough to propagate. Best of luck to you in your searches!

I let mine to dry in between watering. I never had pests problems with monstera, recently one of my plants got infected with spider mites and it was in close contact (literally touching) with my albo monstera n deli, they both weren't affected by it (thankfully). Only problem that I had with albo is propagation, already killed two cuttings, tht I bought in winter 😎 stem rot, super annoying Growing speed - I find the more mature monstera the slower it grows
