@SupplyGuy I have an Aloe. But Boylei not Aloe. It is very old and produced tons of babies. Since I have no space, I had put them EVERYWHERE. And they grow anywhere. As you mentioned, the ones with direct full sunlight behind the window show some orange, hurt leave-tips. They can adopt but slowly. E.g. if you want to grow them in a full sunlight place: Put them there in winter. Once summer comes, they know HEAT :) Not the movie, they are too young for that!

I have done this. My mother in law had 3 large monsteras, she had them for 35 years. But they got thrown outside and forgotten for a decade. No water and not a lot of sun. I found them and they looked like yours but I brought them all back to life and they're huge! I took node cuttings from all 3 and made a bunch more propagations from those. I just barely covered mine with potting soil and they rooted.

Found a broken off branch of monstera on the ground some almost 3 months ago. There were about 7 leaves and most of them were in bad shape, so i took them off and buried the branch in dirt. This video finally brought me the courage to dig it up and cut it up to propagate. Apparently every single node has rooted very nicely! Now i have 5 chonks to share :) hopefully i don't have to wait too long for them to shoot up leaves now that there are alr plenty of roots. Thanks Techplant

No idea what I’m doing with it though and having to learn fast 😅

Great and inspiring video! Abundant in much needed info. In fact, I am currently on day 7, reviving an adansonii, in similar condition. I got encouraged from your "Does node size matter..." vid. I followed every tip, specially about the blade, and they are doing fantastic so far. Only different with mine is that I used paper towels for the really tiny one node, and pumice for those with internodes to spare. Also am situated in the Philippines, so I guess the natural high humidity helped a lot. Another thing may I add, I noticed that near each node (even the nearest to the roots), a small baby plant(triaglular-shaped bump) is present. I made sure that that area is facing upward and not facing down buried in pumice. Thank's again and good luck to your future experiments.

It decreases surface area, allowing it to heal faster and preventing disease spread. Imagine if you cut your hand with a very clean, surgical cut. Then imagine if you shredded and crushed your flesh while cutting with a dull pair of scissors. Which would heal faster?

I have a very sad but formerly very LARGE Monstera with only one mostly green leaf that I repotted, but it has just been wilting. I am so emotionally attached to this plant and you gave me hope and proof that it can be saved, so thank you 😭 I’m sad it basically has to start over when this thing, when I got it, was 4 feet tall with leaves with double fenestrations, and it’s gonna be years until it can get back to that point, but I hope I can maintain care of it for that long because it will be so rewarding to see it grow 🥹 I have severe ADHD and depression which led to neglect, but the plant never gave up on me, so I’m not giving up on it. It was attempting to put out new leaves the whole year that I’ve had it (and mistreated it) and I’m just so happy it gets another chance.

You have given me hope! I have an old woody thai constellation single node that started sprouting before stopping abruptly and i discovered that sadly all the original roots have rotted. I cut them all off and decided to leave it in a ziplock back with some sphagnum moss. A month later the growth restarted! no roots yet and one woody end is getting a bit black, so im spraying iwth some hydrogen peroxide solution and hoping it will pull through.

Don't worry about the blackness to much. Eventually the new growth will make its own roots and the woody part may just fall off

Oh this video is what I have been searching. Thanks for giving me so much confidence to not give upon my plants. I keep on killing my monstera deliciosa plants ( becoz of root rot). I bought my fourth monstera and it got root rot too 😫. But I'm not giving up on it, and i also have cuttings saved from my third monstera plant. I really want them to survive.

So i just put a cutting in a closed container with moss. Do i have to keep an eye at the moisture level or leave it as it is??

Do you sterilize your substrate and how do you prepare the perlite for the propagation? Thank you...

I never do, but some people do. if you have multiple nodes maybe try some non sterile and some sterile! let me know how it goes

I literally just got my first monstera deliciosa and I am so nervous about it but I have to admit I am a little encouraged that I can just propagate them if something goes wrong😂

Ah for the leca i would keep the water up half the leca for propagations. It has to do with the amount of water it manages to wick up i believe. Love your videos! ☺️

I use an old barber blade for cutting props very sharp. It has a handle that can store the blade ,so it is a bit more safe and you can have a good grip as well . The cuts are almost as sharp as rasor blade, it might be worth looking into it .
