It's just me or the guy who played Lyle got shocked at 1:48, because the other guy and the interviewer were giggling about what he said regarding the intricate dynamic of abuse where there are anger and aggression and love at the same time?! He kept very respectful and the other two were playing around, like if that was fiction and that it was so much fun to play this horrible true story?!
@Renee_baeАй бұрын
Yeah Nicholas was definitely shocked and I’m glad he showed that emotion because like you said the topic in that moment was abuse, I understand some may think the lesser versions of abuse was maybe over-dramatized with unintended humor, but it definitely wasn’t meant to be funny or to later be interpreted as a funny moment like Cooper found so funny enough to bring up in the middle of that topic… That can be seen as very distasteful and not good publicity. They should be careful especially with past shows or movies depicting Murderers but then fans unintentionally glorifying them all because the actors are attractive, or better yet, cast members making fun and referring to what was suppose to be an abusive scene of a show that was based on real life events…

@proxigogoАй бұрын
I have been noticing these on every interview and it's quite funny sometimes because when answering some question, Nic would look at Cooper while answering some of it and Cooper would mostly look at the interviewer and Nic would keep doing that until Cooper looks at him or just give up😅, kind of like seeking for approval in some of the answers, there's also some kind of tension going on in 1:38, with them changing their sitting positions and Nic taken aback expression when Cooper said " She's a whore"
@bbeiic0wkaaАй бұрын
@@proxigogo righhhhht you get me!! His eyes rarely leave him in general idk why (maybe he seeks comfort in cooper approval?) but I did notice tension as well!
@aroapicot7373Ай бұрын
@@bbeiic0wkaa its probably because Nic is talking about the reaction of abused victims and then Cooper makes a joke out of that, acting in the most insensitive way possible. How out of touch with reality can someone be?
@Hmy8799Ай бұрын
@@proxigogoI think you’re misinterpreting the dynamic of theirs during interviews, haha. Nic, when asked, hasn’t ever stated that he believes the brothers have served their time and should be released from prison now, as they are not a threat to society and endured so much trauma before their brains were even fully developed (which is age 25). Even in solo interviews he seems to try and dodge any questions that are related to the real life case and people who the show is based on. He’s also very serious in his answers and about his “craft”, whereas cooper is obviously somehow at TOTAL ease and immediately has great rapport with every interviewer. He’s also The only cast member who was invested in the actual humans BEHIND the (perhaps TOO excessively dramatized, using TOO much of “his own artistic interpretations by Ryan Murphy) real story on which the show was based. Cooper is the most fun and enjoyable to listen to, and the very same uncomfortable vibes are given off by Nic in his solo interviews. You KNOW that for a show this big, there was a LOT of advising/media training prior to the promotional period of PR that the actors have to do as part of their contract. Since neither of these guys have had to do press anywhere NEAR this level-or when there are somewhat high stakes when it comes to what is actually said in interviews, due to the controversial topic being covered-I’d go out on a limb and say it’s likely that it was decided ahead of time by the higher ups that cooper should do the talking for all general questions that aren’t asked to one of the two of them specifically. He’s so likable and dispels the idea that there was any intention to paint the brothers in a negative light, which was likely extremely important for producers and Murphy. Idk about other people but I also just find that cooper is so much more engaging and entertaining to watch in interviews, while Nic gives off vibes that he doesn’t necessarily want to be there (not due to apathy, but perhaps discomfort due to the controversy that’s been happening between the menendez’ extended family members and Ryan Murphy)? It seems to me like he actually would prefer that Cooper take on all the questions that he does during interviews….am I the only one who sees things like this?!? Hahahaha perhaps I’m delusional but it’s how I’ve interpreted the dynamic between them!!
@Hmy8799Ай бұрын
@@aroapicot7373wait, when did Cooper ever make a joke/laugh when talking about the abused victims..? (Aka the menendez brothers)…? He’s the ONLY member of the cast who reached out to the brothers outside of the show, and the only one who even show interest in/let alone actually GO to the prison and talk with them in person. He’s clearly a very empathetic person, where Nic comes off as not being nearly as empathetic toward what the boys endured, as he has said he doesn’t know if the boys, who have spent decades incarcerated, should even be released-like, EVER. Cooper has very clearly expressed how supportive he is that their sentencing be reconsidered, as they clearly don’t pose a threat to society and they have families of their own along with the extended family that has shown support for them during and after the trial. I’m confused as to which part of the interview you could have gotten that interpretation, hahaha. Or perhaps you just haven’t watched as many interviews with them, so you’re basing it solely off of this one which could totally make sense-as I came into watching this already being familiar with the dynamic and how uncomfortable Nic is to speak about his belief that the brothers SHOULD be held accountable for their actions, and that the abuse shouldn’t be able to be used as an excuse for their actions (that’s what he implies in other interviews; which imo means he is unfamiliar with how severely childhood trauma impacts the brain….its truly mind blowing how extensive the literal brain structure can be impacted for those who endured trauma-ESPECIALLY trauma in the forms of abuse the brothers seem to have fully been victims of. One has proven and been outspoken about his empathy for the brothers and that he thinks they’ve slready served their time, while the other remains “unsure” after the apparent extensive research he did on the case/trial.

am very empathetic towards these two men who have now spent over 30 years in prison. They lived in a prison at home by the weight of keeping the “secret” and endearing hell day in and day out never being able to be comfortable and at rest. Then being tried and found guilty in the second trial which was a complete travesty of justice by not allowing the SA claims to be brought up during the second trial. The “boys” at the time were portrayed very negatively and nothing close to what was true. Until you have walked in their shoes, no one can understand the full depth of what being a victim of SA does to you. #FreetheMenendezbrothers
