I've been listening to OMAM since middle school, years after that I was so excited when beneath the skin came out. And now I'm blessed with being able to listen to their new music which brings a smile to my face that I just cant seem to shake off,. Their music does something to me that I'm yet to understand but I love it.

I remember having a chat with a lady a long time ago and she said "don't play this song, because it will make me cry; can't explain why, it just does". Well, now I know what it feels like. If I have the lyrics in front of me, I often try to sing along; but for the love of me, everytime I open my mouth to sing at least one verse, my throat just clogs and I instantly feel like crying. Especially on that shout-like chorus, which, at least to me, expresses the struggle of the human being/nature. It's weird, it makes me feel like that, yet I have it playing in a loop :) Am I a broken human or what? :D Amazing piece of art, guys!

Another beautiful song! I love Wild Roses! The music may sound different from the other albums, but the lyrics and the feelings are the same. Though the new album sounds different, I love all of Of Monster and Men's music all the same! They have a feeling, a unique 'tune' that makes me feel restless with my life. I feel and want to go explore new things, not be held down by life's responsibilities and the normal way of life. Like this song, I feel like running in the night, on a hill surrounded by fireflies and watching the stars above me. And I would be living in a treehouse and staring outside the window with a single candle lighting my room every night to just look outside the landscape. And their other songs make me want to explore distant lands, like Yellow Light. Alligator and Wolves Without Teeth makes me want to shout my feelings out, loud and clear. With Backyard, I feel like I can feel more about myself, like who am I, or such. Well, I went on a bit of a wordy journey and I could go on about more of their songs, but I'm curious. For those reading my comment, how does this song and the other Of Monsters and Men's songs make you feel? Or what kind of thoughts do you have when you listen to the songs?

Wild roses on a bed of leaves in the month of May I think I wrote my own pain Oh, don't you? Down by the creek, I couldn't sleep so I followed a feeling Sounds like the vines, they are breathing (Oh it sounds like, it sounds like, it sounds like, it sounds, oh) And I've seen the way the seasons change when I just give it time But I feel out of my mind all the time In the night I'm wild eyed, and you got me now Oh roses, they don't mean a thing you don't understand But why don't we full on pretend? Oh, won't you? Before I closed my eyes I saw a moth in the sky And I wish I could fly that high Oh, don't you? A serpent on a bed of leaves in the month of May What do you want me to say? (Oh it sounds like, it sounds like, it sounds like, it sounds, oh) You keep me still when all I feel is an endless direction When I think I'm losing connection I see you In the night I'm wild eyed, and you got me now Dim the lights, we're wild eyed, and you got me now Oh roses, they don't mean a thing you don't understand But why don't we full on pretend? Oh, won't you? Before I closed my eyes I saw a moth in the sky And I wish I could fly that high Oh, don't you? Oh, don't you? Oh, don't you? Everyone is saying that their new music isn’t as good as the old stuff or isn’t like them. It’s just different. Beneath the skin was different than my head is an animal. They’re made during different times in the bands life. They are a band that changes and write songs about change. So it makes sense to me that they’d strongly let whatever they’re feeling and going through effect their music. And it’s good. I don’t want an album that’s basically the same sounding songs with different words. I want to explore what these guys are feeling.
