AS an avid fan of your channel, I don't think I've ever heard you use the "R" word as much as you have in this review! it's obviously well-deserved. Looks really good, especially the chamfer to the edges of the bracelet links is amazing. I personally, would’ve liked to see a smaller clasp, would fit a dresswatch just better, if I may say so. But I must agree it looks great. But the dial, that is a piece of art!

So many fine aspects of this watch. The bracelet is in the above category (316L, screw pins, half links, on-the-fly adjustments and remarkable clasp). The symmetry is flawless in both day/night settings with that perfect lume. Balance! I would have to grade it Perfecta for design, craftsmanship, legibility and execution.

Definitely my next purchase!!!! No problems with future availability of this watch, it is a long term proposition for Noble. Just ADORE this blue fume` dial (I do have plenty of blue dial watches, though), however, the anthracite one looks incredibly CLASSY. Which one to get?

@@watchreviews4k Ordinarily I would absolutely agree, however I saw a review by Random Rob on the anthracite dial version. It also has a sunburst effect which plays with the light brilliantly. It looks a little more 'elegant', IMHO. That said, both dials are beautiful. I have a couple of months to decide as I don't have the prerequisite amounts of cash to purchase the watch at present. Not an easy decision, as for me this represents a large outlay (what doesn't help is that I will be up for just under $500NZD border charges!) Decisions, decisions............. Honestly, yes most people here are watch enthusiasts but let’s not forget the timekeeping world in real life outside of our community bubble is divided in three: - Smartphone/watch (for functionality) - Rolex or Above (for social purposes) - The rest (for looks/fun) This is another example of the curse of the mid tier: it’s the best… of the rest. That said… I personally love it and I’m buying it. 😂 My only nitpick: I’d much prefer an applied logo, if they want the luxury narrative to stick, printed logos always feel cheap.

I am considering buying this watch but I have one semi-important question. How easily does the bezel get scratched? As high polished bezels are usually pick up scratches. I have looked at many watches from the 2-5k range and this is one of the best deals and for sure an incredible watch. Thank you very much for your detailed and thoughtful review.

All mirror polished stainless steel bezels will show scratches more than brushed satin finish. However it is easy to remove light scratches using Cape Cod polishing cloths. For heavier scratches the bezel require polishing on a buffing wheel with jewellers rouge. This is usually done by a watchmaker. Regards, #WR4K

I too will be hit with import duty, almost 500NZD, so that adds significantly to the overall cost/value proposition. Is it worth it???? IMHO it is, although I have never paid as much for a watch before. If you are comparing the quality of this watch to the majority of grossly overpriced, overhyped and overrated Swiss offerings, then the Monta Noble seems to be UNDERPRICED. (don't tell Monta!!!) At the end of the day you can either choose to use the credit card or leave it in your wallet.

Their whole campaign is to deliver luxury level watches at mid tier prices.... Direct to seller. It's good to see that seem to deliver at least entry level luxury standards (perhaps better than every level luxury). It they didn't, it woulda huge problem, at they don't have the pedigree of being an established brand with history. They're technically a microbrand.... Or if they are shooting for differentiation.... One could call then an independent watchmaker.

Another fantastic review of an absolutely AWESOME timepiece. Excellent value for money, not exactly my idea of 'lemonade' money, but I can see your point given the finishing on this watch and it's pricing given the grossly overpriced Swiss offerings out there. Has the SW300 which Monta has powered this with had the piss-weak winding mechanism as commonly seen in the SW200-1 fixed? If so, then I will have to save up for one of these!

Another thorough and informative review. I appreciate your efforts! I am in search of an affordable ($3K max) GMT for travels to Europe this spring. I’m considering several watches including the CW C60 Anthropocene which meets all of my criteria. I already own 2 C60’s, however. The Monta Skyquest meets all criteria, as well, and is in the running, but is twice the price of the CW. Is the Monta worth $1,000 more than the CW since you’ve reviewed both brands? The CW offers a better movement, longer power reserve, twice the water resistance, 5 yr warranty, and has a comparable bracelet(?). Thoughts? Thank you for your input. Keep up the fabulous reviews!

(The press version they sent me had a unidirectional bezel which was a mistake, the production models are bidirectional). Excellent piece, however the 4 screws on the dial look bad. Yes, Monta is a level above Christopher Ward in; QC, build quality, finishing. Definitely worth paying the extra for Tudor, or Rolex level finishing. Overall this piece felt very similar to my Oyster Perpetual 41 in quality. The clasp on this piece is superior to the C60 ratcheting clasp; and I say that as someone that really likes it. The C60 bracelet and clasp isn't finished to this Noble's level. The Anthropocene is an excellent piece, but the Skyquest is better. Regards, #WR4K

As of yesterday (11/16/21), Monta rolled out their "Home Try On Program" where they send you a non-functioning watch and bracelet of your choice to test-drive at home and then return. Great concept. When I got my Ginault OR2 there were a lot of comparisons for the Monta Oceanking being at a similar price point. Would be interested on your take of that watch and how to compares to Monta quality as well as the cheaper Submariner homages that have popped up in the past couple years (San Martin, Cronos, etc.)

I own the Sealander, and used to own a Monta, it is a level above for sure, but, at least for me has a design flaw. The clasp itself may not look long, but the hinged underpart is, and is very straight. If you have over a seven inch wrist it should be no problem, but, if like me it is under, mine is 6.5, it will stick out in a very odd way, I would go with the CW, which fits perfectly, and is extremely well made

They are similar looking graduated dials. I prefer glossy enamel dials in one solid colour, versus graduated dials. However the quality of this dials finishing is equal to the Aquis dial. Regards, #WR4K

The only thing wrong is that you’re continually talking about Rolex, they are overpriced. The watch you are reviewing is beautiful and stands on its own by just saying it compares to any watch you can buy for under $8000 including that brand that has a crown logo - The one that was formed in London and doesn’t pay any tax.

What is your point regarding Rolex being founded in London? Monta was founded in Saint Louis, Missouri. Correct the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation is a registered charity, and therefore under Swiss law doesn't pay corporate tax. What is your point? I shouldn't compare a Rolex to a Monta because the latter brand was founded in London? Or because the parent company is a registered charity? My viewers often ask me to compare X watch to X watch. This makes it easier for a collector that hasn't handled the piece to evaluate it against a piece they have handled. For example if they are familiar with an Oyster Perpetual 41, and I compare this Noble to it in; quality, QC, finishing, build quality, materials, etc, they will be able to understand. Yes, Rolex watches are overpriced. Yes, the watch I reviewed is beautiful. Hence me giving it a positive review. I have reviewed it objectively. Unlike you looking at the Rolex brand with bias; using London foundation of the brand, and the parent company not paying corporate tax; to criticise the brand. Regards, #WR4K

@@watchreviews4k The point was actually not a criticism of you apart from you mention the name of another brand about 20 times , that’s just a bit of generalised criticism of Rolex thrown in - everybody thinks Swiss is the be all and end all of everything, well not necessarily say compared to Japanese watchmaking, the point is that everybody holds Rolex up as the benchmark, I actually feel they’re overpriced, that seems to be watches it’s illogical nonsensical and doesn’t really fit with reality. we have the stage with Patak Philippe where everything has to be made of gold or platinum and that to justify the outrageous nonsensical prices, I enjoyed your review and I thought you made the point that is an incredibly good quality piece for the money that stands up to the market leader. I don’t know if you’ll take the positive out of this your review would encourage me to purchase.

Many collectors are aware "Swiss Made" on the dial at 6 is a marketing ploy; as under Swiss law only 60% of the watch has to be Swiss value; thus 40% can be Chinese. "the point is that everybody holds Rolex up as the benchmark" again you are mistaken. The Holy Trinity brands are held as the benchmark. Collectors universally accept these to be many levels above Rolex. Also German brands such as; A. Lange & Söhne, and Glashütte Original; are both universally accepted by collectors as many levels above Rolex. However I appreciate the majority of collectors have not handled pieces from the aforementioned brands; therefore I repeatedly used Rolex as a comparison as more collectors have handled one. The purpose of me repeatedly comparing this piece to Rolex; was to leave collectors in not doubt whatsoever of the quality of the Monta Noble. My review got that point across clearly; therefore my method served its purpose. I sometimes get asked by collectors to compare the watch I am reviewing with other brands; as it helps them to get a feeling for the quality versus a piece they have handled. When I do this, people like yourself then take exception to me referring to Rolex "about 20 times" etc. The reality is this Rob, as a watch reviewer one is constantly criticised regardless of what kind of review I give. This is why I make the content I want to make, rather than making content that collectors tell me I should be making to please what they like. Regards, #WR4K

I just received my Monta Noble today. I was eager to open it and try it on. Then was a bit disappointed, the watch is pretty small and light and has a cheap feel about it. The band is very flimsy and feels cheap and the case itself is so so but definitely doesn't warrant all the hype. The micro adjustments on the band slip, so when you adjust them and wear the watch then take it off they slip back out and you have to adjust it again before you wear it. and the power reserve is only a few hours, I can wear it all day then take it off before bed and in the morning it has stopped and i have to re set it. Over all its probably on par with your average run of the mill everyday watch you can buy at one of those kiosks in the middle of the mall. It's nothing special and definitely not worth the price point.

You either know nothing about watches or have an entirely different piece. The bracelet is articulated and has a solid milled clasp, so it being flimsy makes nor sense. Even comparing the quality and finish of this watch to a Rolex would be close to the same.
