The problem is, the locals don't like the increased population of people moving in. We don't need to build on every piece of land just because it's there

I know I hate that. I thought maybe we could get protected areas near towns or in them. Just for the natural beauty and animals. Seems everyone is super eager to make alot of money throwing down pavement and poorly built housing.

Kalispell has already started to change for the worse. Many Californians moving in and trying to make it like the place they moved from. The small town feel is all but gone, the air of entitlement is growing quickly, and trying to buy a home/property is rapidly getting out of reach for the average family. The whole area used to be an amazing place to be, I have personally seen the change, and it’s not good.

@@Roninforged My son lives there too. Look it’s up to you natives to keep control of your city councils, etc. Things cannot change unless the townspeople are passive and just complain. I was visiting my folks in St. Ignatius the week of Father's Day. 1,500 mile drive from Texas and worth every mile. The Mission Mountains are incredible. You can see every star at night it seems like! The Milky Way and Galactic Core included. There's Stutzman's Country Market with a horse hitch for Amish buggies. Worth a place to check out if you are looking for video ideas! Anyway. Western Montana is beautiful. (I guess you knew that) When they first moved there last year I watched a bunch of your videos, and others. As a result I knew my way around pretty well once I got there. Thanx for sharing!

Yes, the star gazing is pretty good here. If you take a look at a light pollution map, you can see that there is some light pollution. I live in town and at night I can make out all the constellations. With a telescope you can see many more stars, but you can still not make out things like the Andromeda Galaxy and things you can make out by the naked eye in the desert or someplace like that, even with a telescope, so there are some limitations in town and even just outside of it. I do work in the retail area at night, and you can clearly make out planets even with all the parking lot lights. Cheers.

Kalispell could reach more then 30,000 people, but not the only city in Montana. Currently the population of Kalispell Montana as of 2020 census is 25,088. Other Montana cities in Montana are: Belgrade is 9,751 in 2020, but it will be 12,000 by the year 2030, Missoula is 84,000 in 2020 but it will be about 105,000 by the year 2030, Billings is 110,000 in 2020, but it could be between 140,000 and 150,000 by the year 2030. Havre is 9,571 as of 2020 census, but it will be about 10,750 by the year 2030. The population for the entire state of Montana is 1,068,493 for 2020 census, but it will increase to approximately 1,200,000-1,250,000 by the year 2030. The only 2 major gas stations in Montana are: Conoco and Exxon, but they are add Mobil and Shell gas stations. Small market gas stations in Montana are: Cenex, Holiday, and Sinclair.

Enjoy your videos, I’ve been wanting to visit Montana for many years now but am hesitant to make the drive from the Houston Tx area due to the sheer distance. I must say that reading the comments has me a bit baffled coming from an area that has a metropolitan population of almost 7 million people. Montana is the 4th largest state by size but ranks near the bottom in population. Understand it’s relative to what you are used to but Montana will never have to worry about being overpopulated in our lifetime.

This is a wonderful confirmation as we toured the inventory here this Christmas/January, some amazing properties where they’re building up former farm land, clearly the city will grow into a stunning new metropolis in next 20-30 years, if whitefish is the next big sky, Kalispell is indeed a great longterm investment for bringing children here to grow up with their new city. Of course we want a chunk of whitefish, but we know how much more for the money we can get in Kalispell, it is tempting. Please consider making a video on trusted local architects and designers for custom home building, especially the new contemporary ones, we see plenty of the usual timber and log homes and “old Montana homes” but we want to build a nice new modern mansion, it is overwhelming to search for who to hire for the process being in Miami ourselves. But we have time, appreciating referrals.

My wife and I purchased 35 acres on Ashley lake. We are moving from eastern Washington. The last 10 years has made our current area in rural Washington unrecognizable. Used to be little cell service, cash pay at the gas pumps, and the highway was dead quiet past 7PM. So I can say, if you live somewhere beautiful and private, it will eventually become not so private and attract crowds. And likely not crowds of the same mindset. I could tell right away kalispell was a town from the old world, crossing the threshold into the new. And while it does make me sad, I understand this will happen everywhere as folks spread out. That being said, it’s why we chose Ashley lake area. There is only so much property available around the lake and more strict building ordinances. Plus the winters can be brutal. All those things combined should give me the peace and privacy I yearn for. At least for a decade or so.
