i like it way better too. the melody is way more clear. there are songs that a simple interpretation is better than the overly complicated one

How long did it take to nail the polyrhythm?

I have a lot of experience playing polyrhythms, so I didn't really have to practice it. It's something you probably won't do in your first year of learning piano, but once you've figured it out, you won't have to learn it again for every new piece where it appears.
