I believe that is David Morris performing on a lirone, which is actually a member of the lyre family as opposed to the violin or viol families.

@@bostonearly Thank you. On second viewing I see it has too many strings for a viol.

I had to double-check it myself! He was credited for playing the viola da gamba and lirone in the full concert and I had to confirm that he did play a gamba elsewhere. The configuration of the tuning pegs doesn't seem quite standard for a lirone, so I did want to be sure of the identification.
