I used to live there until a job took me further out. Some parts are rough but there's plenty of decent neighborhoods though housing prices can be steep in some areas. I was rooming with two other people in Old Cloverdale, our street was nice but the others close by were almost like visiting a different city.

@@DanOMalleyTime Its easy for me. Just look at what part of city looks more sparse and click onto the street view and you'll most likely be in a hood. Look for MLK drive in most cities and usually the hood. South sides are usually hood. Start from the inner core and go out from there.

This video is just showing the westside of Montgomery.. Show the good side to. My point is that people around the world that watch KZbin videos see this and be like wow. Montgomery is a good place and a bad place to live. Next time go to the New Town neighborhood. It is much worse. It is shocking. My parents inherited property there in the 70s. When they were remodeling. Everything would be stolen overnight. We just demolished them. Drove thru a couple of years ago. It reminded me of slums in Panama.

I grew up on Rotary St. in Montgomery, until I was 12, around 76 or 77. I can't tell if that street is in your vid, but it's in the vicinity of the Montgomery Zoo, and the Coliseum. I never knew we were poor until I grew up. I have a picture, taken last year, of the house we lived in, near Catoma Elementary School. It is all boarded up and abandoned.

ive lived here my whole life, specifically in Chisholm. it's hell. crackheads everywhere, most nights you hear gunshots. people steal and kill in broad daylight. our house was sacked twice and Ive been held up at gunpoint several times. IF i dare go on a walk I will turn the other way if someone is walking in my direction. Looks like the majority if not all this video was shot in West Montgomery. West Montgomery is a real shit whole but there's other parts of the city that's really gutta too. He should do a part two for Montgomery. You need to go to Chisolm, King Hill(Dixie court) and Sheridan Heights. On the west he missed Gibbs Village, Smiley Court and Mobile Hwy. Then on the Southside all he had to do was hit up Ridgecrest and gone on up those hoods off Troy Highway. What's in this video is Hood, but it does get worse than this in the areas I just named.

I can tell you from personal experience this place is an absolute hell to live in. Luckily we moved out a long time ago to the outer suburb of Wetumpka, but you can't go into the city without encountering things seen in the video every day. Crime is rampant, businesses are moving out like the plague just swooped in, and people are just downright unfriendly and rude. Don't believe the comments saying he is only showing "the bad sides", the whole place is the bad side. Keep away from Montgomery, it is becoming the next Detroit.

On the flipside there are some very nice areas of Alabama. My sister lives in a gated community with million dollar homes. I live in a tiny community where each is required to be at least 3 acres or more. It's also gated. So don't judge all of Alabama by one clip of Montgomery.

houses need some TLC and the roads. But this is nothing compared to the housing estates in London and other cities in the UK. That is more ghetto than this and looks 10x worse.
