War is indeed hell. My Grandfather was there, D Day, Africa. everywhere. Came back a very different man I was told. One thing he hated was America-bashing, was so grateful the US came to our aid and knew we wouldn't have won without them. When I heard this I promised never to bash the US again.

Some blame had to be attributed to the German people. Not everyone was innocent. They may be some harsh words but the treatment of them was not.
